Death and Destruction

There was a time, long ago, when purple monkeys existed. Their tribe was ruled by a king with golden stripes atop his head. Such a monkey was born once every ten generations. This tribe did not live in trees, but on the flat ground of small forests, where they had a variety of fruit trees. They made barricades of willow trees to prevent predators from capturing them and only travelled in groups of at least five.
Although monkeys are considered ridiculous, these purple monkeys were of high intelligence and gathered food for emergencies. There were never any conflicts in these tribes thanks to the wisdom of the 'hiaji' as the king was known. The language developed by these monkeys far surpassed any of the many human languages as it was very simple yet complex.
There were no wars between these creatures as they did not believe in violence or killing. They were very open minded and shared one common belief that their life was based on- 'Never harm a living creature.' It was because of this belief that their sharp teeth only pierced the flesh of fruits and their spiked tails were only used to aid them in climbing trees.
They did not even use it to even defend themselves when the pale grey buffaloes got jealous of them and burst through their peaceful habitat with the intent of destroying them. The plan would not have worked if the slimy yellow snakes did not assist in wiping this serene community off the face of the earth. And so, the great exemplars were extinguished and every trace of their existence gone forever.
