A Resembling Love (On Hold)

Chapter 2

Kendra's POV

"So, tell me all about this date!" My friend Amanda practically yelled as she pulled me down beside her on my bed. I sighed before smiling at her eagerness.

When I got home, I had forgotten that I invited over and her living right beside me allowed her to see exactly when it is when I get home/

"It was..... amazing. Michael was so sweet and so caring." I said, still not believing that I didn't say yes sooner. What was I thinking? Amanda was so entranced that she jumped up frustrated that I didn't give more details.

"What else? Kiss? Details? WHAT HAPPENED?" I smiled at how happy and giddy she was and waited for her to calm down to tell her the rest.

"Well, we didn't kiss. He insisted that it was only polite to wait atleast until the second date to kiss. He said he wanted to be certain that I was certain about him. How can I not be certain about a guy who would do that?!" I told her frustrated. I've wanted Michael for so long! But I was willing to wait another date for him.

"I agree! Did you guys plan a second date?"

"I don't know he has my nu-" Right before I could finish my sentence, my phone bleeped to notify me that I just got a text.

It read:

Michael :Had a wonderful night, hope you think the same?

I smiled at the sweet text before questioning why he would ask it like a question.

"That's weird." I muttered. I looked up at Amanda to see her looking at me expectantely.

"Never mind, I'm just over thinking things." I said, shaking my head at myself and my insecurities.

"Are you sure?" She asked, scooting closer, trying to read over my shoulder. I smiled at her and nodded and went back to my phone.

KendraXO: I had a wonderful night too and I'm happy to hear you feel the same. I can't wait for our next date :D

I hesitated before sending it, but finally after a moments hesitation I pressed send on my Iphone.

"Now! Movie time!" Amanda said, while pulling out 3 movies for us to choose from out of her over night bag. I laughed and pointed to This Means War with the two mega hot actors on the cover.

"Great choice!" She said, while standing up to put in the movie.

I held my phone secretly in my hand on vibrate so only I would know when Michael replied.

Michael's POV

I was so relieved when Kendra texted me back telling me that she had a nice time and told me she was excited for the next date. I was surprised. Who knew my brother could be civil. Especially in front of such a gorgeous girl.

But I was grateful none the less. He kept my non-existent relationship with her still possible. I went to reply when Damon knocked at my door.

"Come in." I said from my desk.

"Just wanted to say thanks. It was a good night with Kendra, glad you weren't there." He said with a smirk before retreating back to his room.

His attitude worried me.  He never described a night with a girl without sex as a "good night". I got up from my chair and walked quickly to his room before he can shut the door.

"Listen, I appreciate everything you've done for me, but this was a one time thing. It won't happen again. I am the one Kendra said yes too, and it was me she thought she was on a date with, not you. Understand?" I said, through clenched teeth. He only smiled and nodded  before going to shut the door.

I stopped him from doing so and he rolled his eyes before looking back at me.

"Do.You. Understand? I like this girl and I won't let you get in the way." I said, shoving the door open. His smirk only grew.

"I understand Michael, I understand that I had a good time with Kendra and she had a good time, with me. She wanted me to kiss her. And I wanted to kiss her. Now, do you understand?" He asked back. I glared at him and went to hit him when thoughts of her appeared in my head. I had to prove to him that I was the bigger man and would not fall for his taunting words.

"I will not let you hurt her!  Stay away from her!" I said.

"I like her, I want her."

"But she doesn't know you exist." I said, and for a second his smirk slipped, but only for a second.

"But she notices you, and last I checked we're twins. I can easily be you.Hell I was you.... only better." He said, with the same reassured smirk.

"What do you want with her?" I said, suspicious now. If he wanted to get back at me, I wasn't going to allow him to involve Kendra.

"I like her. Isn't that enough? How about this? Instead of us fighting over it. We allow her to decide."

I contemplated his words for a second, before I was consumed with a possessiveness. I cared to much for her to share her. Had I known that Damon would end up liking her for more then just sex, I would've never allowed him to be near her. When Damon cares for someone, it's a bad thing. Sex is sex. Emotions are another thing.

"I won't let you hurt her." I growled at him.

"I won't let you bore her!" He growled back. We stared at each other until finally,a car honk from the house across the street broke our silence.

"If you care so much for her, and trust her. Trust her to make the right decision. Trust her to be smart enough to know which one of us is better for her." Damon said, again using his taunting voice.

"Fine, but she must not know about this! She would never date both of us, she has more class then that!" I said, finally stepping into his room.

"Fine, I'll keep on pretending to be you."

"No sabotage! She has to honestly choose between us."

"I agree." I stared at him for a second and finally my morals set in.

"What are we doing?  We both like her but we're both plan on playing her? No, stay the fuck away, okay?" I turned to leave but before I knew it, I was rammed into the wall.

"No, you listen you pussy! I like her, if pretending to be you is what I have to do then I will do it! Understand?" He said, pushing me harder into the wall at every sentence. He managed to knock down his CD rack but at the moment neither of us cared. I kicked back and he instantly let go, falling to the floor.

"She better not get hurt!" I yelled before storming away from my brother.

As I walked to my bedroom the only thing I can think of was, 'God, Kendra better be worth it. 'Cause there's no bouncing back from this as brothers.'
