Bite Me.

-

“Mum…” I whined as she threw a newspaper at my face. She stood there with a wooden spoon in her grasp and her legendary apron on which was a models body.

“No Nathan, you’re nineteen years old and you haven’t had a job in a month. I’m putting my foot down and saying that you now have to find one” she barked. My mother was a kind mother but she had to put this act up to deal with me even though I know she wants to break out and hug me saying it was okay.

“…There are no good jobs nowadays” I continued to pester her.  I noticed my sixteen year old sister sat in the kitchen re-applying her lip-gloss whilst smirking at me getting shouted at.

“Carson, Jackson, Stark and David all have successful jobs and are getting on with daily life enjoying it. You need to do the same”

I rolled my eyes then stood up and walked passed her into the kitchen dumping my mug in the sink. “They’re all wealthy families” I replied and mum scoffed at me.

“Stop bitching like we’re poor.” Lacie, my sister snared at me slamming her lip-gloss on the table standing up with her hands on her hips.

“Language Lacie and what did I say about wearing revealing clothing like that?”

Using that conversation as my distraction I slipped out of the kitchen, grabbed my coat and keys and was out of there within a flash.

  -

I checked my phone seeing it was the right time. I parked up and got out walking towards the field. One team in black and red the other in orange and black.   “Mays, to you” a gruff voice yelled. I looked to see a big built up nineteen or twenty year old spin pass the rugby ball, I followed it and it soon landed in the hands of Carson. I smiled at the concentration on his face as he broke out in a sprint slamming opposing team members out of the way.  The lads cheered him on and soon enough he slammed the ball down on the ground and let out a roar.

Carson was one lucky bastard. He got his scholarship and was now living the academic dream.  “Mr. Brice”, I turned to see Mr. Simms.  I smirked and did a nod.

“Good morning Sir”

He chuckled, “Remember I said you should call me C-”

“Cameron, yes I remember but it’s just…new” I chuckled and he shrugged. “Fair enough. Here to see Carson?”, he stood with the sun behind him making his chocolate brown hair shine and his tanned skin look flawless. A breeze ‘whooshed’ by making his white button-up shirt ruffle exposing skin.

I blinked then shook my head, “Yeah, haven’t been him in a couple days. Besides I need someone to vent my issues to”

He let out another little laugh then leant against the white painted wooden barrier which went all around the perimeter of the field. “What’s wrong kid?”

I rolled my eyes then sat beside him. “Work...”

He nodded, “Ah, so that’s it”

“You know me Mr. Simms; I’m the hyperactive type who can’t sit down”

He raised a brow to me and gestured to me sat on the fence. I scoffed then lightly punched his arm, “You know what I mean you ass”

He nodded then ran his fingers through his hair. “You’re a smart lad Nate, I reckon if you put your mind to it you can do any job you like Mr. Roberts”, after letting that soak in I nodded.

“I’ll start of at McDonalds” I suggested and I heard a scoffing sound from behind us, we looked to see Carson stood there topless with his shirt over his shoulder.

“You work at McDonalds we’re not friends anymore, I’ll chat with my dad seeing as he is looking for an employee” Carson notified me but my heart stopped. Working for Mitch…

My eyes widened big time and I stood up, “No…it’s okay, I mean…your fathers company is a multi-billionaire success. An idiot like me working there will obviously shun it so Mit-Your dad won’t let me work there” I blurted then ran.

By the time I got to the corner shop I stopped then groaned.

“Why the hell did I run?” I groaned loudly in embarrassment attracting the attention of passing people. One woman ushered her child quickly passed.

Slowly sulking home, too idiotic as to have forgotten my car at the pitch, no way was I going back. My phone buzzed, I got it out then scanned the text message from Carson and groaned.

‘You got the interview with my dad. Wednesday, 1 in the afternoon. Come to mine earlier that day and I’ll fix you up a suit. You’re welcome.     Mays x’

That bitch…
