Chapter 19: Misery

{Harry's POV}

Once I heard Elisa yell, my stomach knotted and my heart dropped. She was mad because of me. Because I had to open my big mouth and say something about Zayn, when she was perfectly happy with him before. I groaned and sank into the couch.

If she and Zayn came out not being friends because of all this, I don't know what I would do. I should have never asked him to date her. She was fine before anyway. She didn't even seem miserable. We were getting along fine. We were acting like a real couple and I had to go and mess it up. It's as if I went looking for misery but she found me first.

My head started pounding and I suddenly realized I had a migraine coming on. All this pressure was building on me. My head felt like it was going to explode, along with my heart.

I stood and walked to the kitchen. I went over to the cabinet and searched for a bottle of aspirin. I reached for the bottle all the way in the back and shook out two pills, placing them on the counter. I put the bottle away and went to grab a bottle of water from the refrigerator. I closed the door and stared at the picture that stuck to the door.

I smiled but I wanted to cry.

It was a picture of all of us. I think my mum or Jay took it. I really couldn't remember though, it was from last year.

It was me, Louis, Zayn, Niall, Liam, Michelle, Ruby and Elisa. It was taken after Melinda and Zayn broken up the first time.

I remember he was crying for days. I had never seen Zayn so vulnerable and broken over anything in my year of knowing him. He was completely torn up about the whole thing. I remember he told me that he didn't want anybody else and he wasn't going to date anybody ever again. I remember I laughed and told him that she was just a girl and he would find somebody else. He told me it was impossible because he loved her so much; so much it hurt.

I knew the feeling now, but then, I thought he was crazy. My feelings for Elisa were just starting then. I was still in the stage of just thinking she was really fit. That's all. Just my best mate's hot sister. I hadn't really talked to her much, since we were so busy. We were doing the X Factor tour and then recording our album, shooting music videos and doing promotional things. We didn't have time for anything. Not even family; only on rare occasions.

We finally got him out of the house about a week after. I dragged him and everyone else to my house for the weekend. Louis invited his family and Ruby and Liam brought Michelle along.

That weekend was one that I'd never forget. That was the weekend where everything changed. Everything I had ever thought about her changed. She wasn't just Louis' sister anymore. She was the girl who I had to have. She wasn't just the hot girl I wanted to call my girlfriend, she became more than that.

I remember we were the only two who could stay up all night. Everyone else fell asleep by four in the morning and we stayed up until six just talking. We were talking about the most random things.

She told me about school; how she couldn’t wait to graduate. She said to me that she might even move to London and go to a university over there because she loved the city so much. Then she said that her mum would never let her do that because Louis moved out and she didn’t want her leaving too. It was kind of like my mum and me leaving home so early.

We talked about the band; how she said she knew we were going to be successful. We even talked about some guy she had just broken up with. It was funny because she called him a bastard and I didn't even think that she would ever say such a word. She seemed too cute and innocent when she was far from it.

She was cheeky and funny; like Louis in many ways. Nevertheless, she had more to her. She was sweet and caring, always putting everyone before herself. She always had a smile on her face, even though she's kind of a pessimist. She was realistic, but she's always wanted her fairytale ending. I wanted to give her that fairytale, minus the ending, because I didn’t want it to.

I sighed. We all looked happy in the picture. Ruby was on Lou’s lap, kissing his cheek. He had a huge grin spread across his face. Next to them was Niall; grinning like always. After him was Zayn. He looked miserable but, in spite of that, he had his “I’m so hot” look plastered on his face. After him was Liam and Michelle, looking happy as ever, as always.
