Your Glitter

The glitter falling from my face was a reminder of your existence.

The stardust you left around me always taking over

Was a constant remainder of your memory.

Why could you not simply leave without a trace?

Was it because you could indeed read my soul?

Could heaven help your knowledge in my yearning for you?

For that is simply not fair in life for one to know another’s deepest secrets.

I knew you would leave in a pain stronger than either person or beast had forever felt.

But living in your bittersweet memory makes me incapable of moving on.

I cannot be with all your pixie dust surrounding me,

Like a never-ending reminder that you are gone, yet still here.

I walk silently down the street, every voice yours, every thought of you.

However, quickly my thoughts are silenced by the overwhelming presence you have.

Sparkles. Everywhere I look I see sparkles.

Your magic takes me over. It has taken over my very core.

I wish to sprout wings and fly to the heaven in which you reign high.

I wish to leave this hell I endure every day, this hell you have created.

“My god,” I used to speak, but that god is now you.

You make me question my very meaning, my own soul.

You have made this world impossible for me to live in.

So, I will have to move on to the next.

Why have you left me no choice; yet damn me to this fate?
