Xander took my hand involuntarily and led me back to the palace. Holding his hand felt so perfect, like his hand was custom made to fit mine. I turned to look at him but he was stonewalled. "Xander, I'm sorry if I upset you." My voice was barely above a whisper. He stopped and pulled my arm so I would look into his peircing eyes, that felt so familiar. "It's not your fault Aranea, no need to feel sorry. It's me who has to apologize for not letting you help, but I can't let you do that." He pressed his forehead on mine. I've only known him for several days but he has done something to me, something that I thought would never happen, he is making me fall and fall hard.
*Several weeks later.*
Xander and I are almost inseperable. We know almost everything about each other. Father found out that Bishop was cursed and hypnotized, that's why he's been working me so hard. That's all father would tell me, there still needs to be 'futher investigation' to find the problem.
Adonis was released from prison on bail and a loose statement that he wouldn't do it again. I rolled my eyes and heard the two words no victim wants to hear: "Not guilty."
I was the first one out of the court room, obviously followed by Xander. "What's the matter?" He cooed. I shook away the tears. "Can I show you something?" I asked as stable as I could. "Yes of course." He whispered. I grabbed his hand and swam toward the abandoned docks.
I never told Xander about Gino, nor Gino about Xander. On the way there, Xander didn't question anything. "Hold on a second." I told Xander. He just nodded and let go of my hand as I broke the surface.
"Hello Aranea, you're early." Gino said. "There has been a lot of things troubling me today, so I thought I should give my human friend a surprise." I said honestly. "A surprise? For me?" You shouldn't have." He said a bit cockily.
I motioned for Xander to come up. When he broke the surface I looked at Gino's face, just what I thought, he was utterly surprised. I looked at Xander who had the same reaction as Gino.
Gino cleared his throat. "Aranea, can you please explain to me, what's going on here." Xander said, Gino nodded in agreement, "Well you both told me a story of how you both had a brother you didn't know about. Xander, I was talking weeks before I met you and when I saw you I had a gut feeling you two were related somehow. And well, I wanted you two to meet face to face." I explained to the both of them.
Gino ran his hands through his hair trying to process everything. I noticed my tail scale on his wrist. He peirced small fishing hooks and tied it together around hiswrist with leather and twine.
"Should I leave you two be for now?" i suggested. Gino and Xander looked at each other and nodded. "Well, I should be going home then. It was nice seeing you Gino. I'll see you in a week, oh, and play nice to your brother." That last part I addressed to the both of them before diving back into the water, swimming as fast as I could home.
*Xander Point of View*
After Aranea left I turned to the human and shot glares at him. "Well, how's mommy dearest doing?" He said in a mock tone. "I should ask you the samething about our father: Morris." I hissed. He looked shocked. "Mother isn't well at all, ever since Morris impregnanted her." I added.
Gino looked stunned. "I was told that mother abandoned us. I've been an orphan all pf my life. Master Morris is the only family I have." This time I was shocked.
"You work for that pig." I spat. Gino looked offended, I could lmost see his blood boil. "He raised me! I have no one else besides him!" He shouted. I could see tears brimming.
I sighed. "Not anymore, brother. You have Aranea and me." I said, trying to calm him down.
"How can you say something like that! I'm human! I've always wanted to be like you and Aranea, but no! I'm nothing but a pathetic human!" Gino cried.
