Welcome to the world of blogging from yours truly,
Craig A. Price.
First off, let me start with an introduction about why I'm doing a parenting blog, and my qualifications to do so. I am 23 years old, and have full custody of my 4 year old son. I have taken two parenting classes through my old church through a weekly video lecture and discussion series. Both were very helpful, and I do recommend Dr. Kevin Leman to any parents out there, be sure to get the workbook with it.
I also have the extream talent of common sense that I use throughout my life as a parent, that many seem to be lacking. I respect my son and revolve my entire life around him and whatever I can do to make his life better.
I grew up in a family or morals and values, and wish to pass the same onto my son so that he may live a good life. I wish to teach him the difference between right and wrong, and through these bloggings you'll find me speaking of different toys, programs, video series', and the like that has been successful for him, as well as anything that he hasn't cared for, or what hasn't been too helpful with him.
First off let me tell you, I am in huge disagreement against the cartoons displayed on Television these days. They seem to corrupt the minds of our youth, and question the intelligence of not only them but us as well. I tend to stict to old fashion shows with morals and values, such as Flintstones, Jetsons, Scooby-Doo, and the like, and what ever happened to School House Rock and The Magic School Bus!
These are things I will discuss in upcoming events, so do stay tuned if you wish to learn about how successful some of these things are, and perhaps you can gain a few ideas yourself about parenting and differnet things that kids enjoy, as well as different ways to go about parenting. I will also bring up events of parentism, and the fact that men are more openly bashed as parents, especially single parents, throughout media, as well in public places and men's restrooms!
One more note, I have dedicated my son to Jesus in church, something I spoke to a previous pastor of mine at a great church I once went to before I moved. Both he and I agreed that Baptism was the wrong way to go, as it should be decided upon the child whether or not they want to. A dedication is only that I dedicate him to live the life Jesus would want him to live.
I won't get much into religion in here, as your beliefs are not concern of mine, but you must at least admit that by living under religion, especially for children, it gives much more value and morals to their actions, and that is one thing you shouldn't critize upon.
Anyway, that is my introduction, feel free to continue.... this is my first attempt at a blog, and I will be uploading these on tumblr and some other bloggy type sites as well.
