Let Your Feet Leave The Earth And Float Away... [Of Mice & Men]

It’s December, months since i first met Shay and the guys at warped tour in July. We’ve stayed in touch but only a couple times a month. He still comments on all my singing videos on youtube and i follow them on twitter but our relationship hasn’t gotten any closer than distant friends.

My phone rang a few days later... 

“Shayley?” i questioned my caller ID before answering. “Hello?”

“Asia!” I heard the voices of 5 men on the other end of my phone. 

“Haha, hello boys!” 

“Pack your bags!” Austin yelled.

“What?” I was majorly confused.

“We want you on a song for the new CD.” Shay added in

“THE FLOOD!” Alan yelled and everyone cheered.

“Shay wrote a song and he wants you in it!” 

“So get packed for 5 weeks of being with us! Your on a plane to Indiana tomorrow!” I could barely contain my excitement. 

I screamed.... loud. 

“Thank you guys so much!” I yelled.

“Wow she screams better than you Austin!” Tino added in.

“Shut up dude!” Austin and Tino went back and forth while i heard the phone get taken off speaker.

“I can’t wait to see you again!” Shay...

“I can’t wait to see you either Shayko.” 

“Well get packed because i have a present to give you when you get here!” A present? What?

“Alright well see you guys soon!” 

“Bye sweetheart!” The phone clicked off. 

I packed my things quickly and called Lexi.

“Lexi!” I yelled into the phone.

“Yes Asia are you okay?” 

“I’m gonna be leaving tomorrow to go to Indiana for about a month. I’m recording a song with Of Mice & Men.”

“... YOU SIT UPON A THRONE OF LIES!” I burst into laughter.

“I’m not! I’ll make sure to visit you.” I smiled

“OH MY GOD BRING AUSTIN, MY FUTURE HUSBAND!” 

“Whatever you say babe. I’ve got to go. I’ll see you soon.” 

“Bye!” I hung up. 

My best friend is such a freak...

I walked down the steps off of the plane and looked around hoping to find the boys. As I walked to the food court I heard someone call my name.

"ASIA!"

I spun around to find the smiling face of Shayley looking a me. I smiled back as he ran towards me and spun me in the air.

He set me down and had a surprised look on his face, as though he wasn't going to see me there. I pushed my hair from my face, not knowing what to say. 

Then I bursted out.

"So. Where are we headed?!"

He grabbed me by the arm and pulled me outside. 

I looked up and I was surprised to see the rest of the boys sitting in the car. As soon as Austin spotted me he jumped out of the car and gave me one of those spinny hugs. The rest of the guys came out and joined to make it a group hug. It brought back so many memories from Warped. They finally put me down and greeted me individually, Alan taking the longest to pry off.

Tino and Austin grabbed my bags and threw them in the back with theirs.

“Ready for a good 10 minutes of driving?” Austin asked me.

“Let’s go!” I yelled and they all cheered and piled into the 16 passenger van.

Once we got to the studio we all got out of the van. when we got out of the van shay started screaming/singing Fergie songs. We all started singing along that way he didn't look as funny. people were giving us weird looks as they walked by us. We didn't care though. Once we got inside we all got settled in. 

“Asia! Don't leave me!!” shay shouted as i went to sit on the couch and wait for someone to tell me what to do next. 

“Why? Your a grown man! You don't a little girl by your side.” 

“I want you to be though. I know i don't NEED you to be here but i WANT you to.”

I couldn't help but smile, he was so adorable when we wanted things. I walked over to Shay and he led me into a room with some mics. He set his stuff down and pulled the lyrics to the song he wrote and handed them to me. ‘When You Can’t Sleep At Night’ I read into the song more and read all the lyrics. It was the cutest song I've ever heard. besides hummingbird though. 

“Awe shay!! Your girlfriend will love this!!”

He looked up confused at the word ‘girlfriend’ “huh?”
