<Vally’s POV>

“WHERE IS NICHOLE?” I screamed in her usual hysteria.

“She was supposed to come around this time!”

“She must be on her way Vally. Don’t freak out,” reasoned Stella.

“But she should have been here 45 minutes back. And why is she not answering her phone?”

“Let’s wait a little longer for her,” Stella tried to reason.

“Do the bouquets look alright? And what about my card?” said a worried Vally.

“Everything is perfect sweetie, don’t stress,” cooed Smile.

<After some time>

“We should leave or the visiting hours will be over! We’re late already!” yelled Vally.

“I think Vally’s right. We should leave,” agreed Smile.

“Alright,” greed Smile.

“Hey Skylar! We’re leaving for the hospital. Incase Nichole comes tell her we waited for a long time,” Vally said to a boy sitting in the hall room.

<End of POV>

Nichole wakes up after a long time. Rubbing her eyes she groans and sits up. Looking around she finds herself in her backyard garden. He mouth tastes different and she gets a feeling that something terrible had happened. Sadly, she can’t remember what.

<Nik’s POV>

I couldn’t remember how reached here. Was I sleep walking? Shoot! I had to go over at Vally’s. I rushed to my room to fix my hair. One glance at my reflection and I was paralyzed with fear. My jaw dropped all the way to the floor, I could not believe what I saw! My common black eyes now had streaks of red in them, bright, gorgeous red and there was red liquid trickling down my lip. I used my fingers to feel the liquid when my gaze shifted to my arm. Right between my shoulder and my elbow, midway, my delicate was a marked with a tattoo. It was bordered with beautiful golden flowers and in the center was an elegant bird. A Phoenix. My fingers traced my marked skin, it looked beautiful. I caressed it with all my love, oh so gently! I was admiring my arm engrossed in its beauty. It gave me a feeling of power and pride, like I could accomplish anything in the world.

Just then I saw my phone on the bed burst with light. I flicked it open to see 9 messages and 12 calls, all from Vally, Smile and Stella. But before I visited the hospital I had some things to do. I quickly washed my face and put on a full sleeve top. I put on some light make-up just in case. I ran down to the medical store.

“Gimme some black lenses!”

The shopkeeper gave me a look saying why-do-you-need-lenses-Your-eyes-are-so-pretty. But I ignored him; I had other things to think about.

I paid for my lenses and put them on.

Relief! Everything unusual has been covered up. I made my way to Vally’s house.

I walked all the way to Vally’s house and knocked on the door. Vally’s brother opened the door, in other words there stood Kathy’s boyfriend.

“The girls have left for the hospital,” he said.

I wanted to leave immediately, but for some reason I stayed. It looked as if he was working out because he had sweat trickling down from everywhere but that made him look so sexy. But as Kathy’s condition entered in my thoughts I was infuriated. How dare he hit a girl!

“Like what you see?” He smirked.

I felt something in me snap. This guy first beats up a girl and then tries to flirt with her friend!

“You son of a ‘insert a word’. Are you human? Where are Kathy’s parents?”

“They’re out and...”

I cut him mid sentence “So you think it is your gala time to sneak in the house? And what are you doing here in the first place. Do you even care a damn about Kathy in the hospital? Why did you take advantage of her! What wrong did she do to deserve that much pain? People like you should be tortured so you’d know how much pain others have suffered because of you.” Words kept rumbling out of my mouth. I didn’t give any sentence a second thought before accusing him! I was so furious at him that I didn’t realize my nails were cutting into my palms.

“B-but...”

“Don’t you dare have the audacity to defend your heinous act!”

With that I stormed out.

“Listen Nichole, wait!”

Oblivious to his pleas I marched away.

I shouldn’t have jumped to conclusions right away. Because what I did was very wrong. Unfortunately, I didn’t know it then.
