Chapter 14 PART 2
2 days later --- Wednesday
I got up and got ready as always. Nate picked me up right on time.
"So, why did you hang up the other night?" he asked smiling as always.
"No reason, I was tired and needed to sleep," I said casually as I looked out the window so I didn't have to face him.
"Trevor look at me when I'm talking to you so I know you're not lying," he said but I didn't listen to him. He grabbed my arms and made me turn around. He smirked, I was blushing as always.
"Oh I see," he chuckled. I yanked my arm back and got out of the car.
The rest of the day went like usual. I had to think everything over. I felt so distracted so I decided to forget everything. I pushed it all out of my mind. John and I had a causal conversation and I all my questions remained in my mind, unanswered.
"So when are you going to tell her?" Nate asked again.
"I don't know soon," I groaned. We were driving down to his house like always. We studies for a while before Cilvia called for me.
"You need something?" I asked as I came down the stairs with Nate behind me.
"Did you two finish studying yet?" she asked.
"Yup, finish just now," I nodded.
"Well would you mind helping me with dinner?" she asked. I looked at the clock on the oven. 6:35 p.m. I still had time.
"Sure," I agreed. I began to help her in the kitchen while Nate and his father were getting over excited about the football game that was on. I rolled my eyes as a smile couldn't help but pull onto my face. I slipped a black apron on and began to help her make dinner.
"So Trevor, what is that you like about my son?" she asked smiling like a teenager. I stopped cutting vegetables and froze as I began to blush.
"Well, that, um, I err, I-I," I stuttered to find my words as I blushed. Cilvia laughed.
"I'm just teasing. I bet you do have strong feeling for him to be okay with the whole school knowing about you two, right?" she asked. I opened my mouth to answer when I felt someone wrap their arms around my waist. Nate rested his chin on my shoulder.
"Yeah Trevor, do you have strong feelings for me, right?" he teased me. Cilvia looked away giving us privacy, yet I could see her blushing. I ignored him and continued to cut. Nate bothered me, asking, whining for me to tell him, but I kept my mouth shut. His parents laughed as I would refuse to answer and he would whine like a child.
"So when do you plan to tell your mother Trevor?" Cilvia asked.
"I'm not sure, but soon I'm sure," I said.
"When the time is right i guess," I said and we all ate dinner.
Nate drove me home, and boy was I tired.
"Alright, I'll see you tomorrow," I said as we pulled up in front of my house.
"Aren't you forgetting something?" he smirked. I sighed and turned to him and we leaned in for a kiss. I pulled away and jumped out of the car ad ran to the door. I waved until Nate was gone. I ended the house and sighed. I jumped as I saw my mom on the couch.
"OH GOSH! Mom you scared the living death out of me!" I almost yelled as I set my stuff down and my keys on the counter. She just stared at me.
"Where have you been?" she asked in her night robe.
"I was out tutoring Nathan like always," I said smiling almost laughing.
"Yes, but you are out later than usual lately," she said in a voice that stopped my smiles.
"Oh, I was having dinner with his family," I said.
"Trevor, it's not nice to be a bother to people daily and intrude on their time," she said lecturing me. I looked down at me feet, like every child does when they've been scolded. I was always invited to dinner as a son by his parents. They have been incredibly kind since we told them the other day.
"Um, well Mom, there's something I've been meaning to tell you," I murmured. She stood from the couch giving me her full attention.
"What is it?" she asked.
"I, um, I've always been invited to dinner with them," I admitted.
"Why would they invite you to dinner so often?" she asked as I was about the get to my point. I guess I'm telling her tonight whether I like it or not.
"Because they think of me as family now," I muttered. My mother gave me a puzzled look.
"Because," I took a breath, "I'm dating their son." Mom's eyes widened.
