I find myself following the Knightly boy again. He heads to the park, I bet its to read again. I think that boy is way to cute to be reading so much. I stay quiet so he wont see me. I watch him sit down on the same bench that is far enough away from the playground as to not be disturbed while reading. Its one of my favorite places to go at this park because its right under the trees, so even when it rains you stay dry. I look around to see if there is anywhere to sit so I can have a better view of the Knightly boy. I find one slightly behind a tree behind his bench.
As I watch I see that pathetic excuse for a gang start walking over towards the playground. I want to yell to the knightly boy to warn him but I'm not ready for him to see me yet. I'm silent. They start pulling out pocket pistols and pointing them at all the kids playing at the playground. I loose sight of the knightly boy. I see him moving behind his bench. How can he be to calm? The thugs look like they're waiting for something or someone. Oh now I see more guys coming from a different direction. Does EVERYONE own a gun? Shots fired! I scream. I look desperately for the Knightly boy. He's still behind the bench. I'm glad. I have to make sure he gets home . he starts to get up, moving to sit back in his spot on the bench.
The cops arrive. They start talking to the Knightly boy about what happened. I dont think they liked what he told them, but they leave him alone. I smile to myself thinking thats what I would have done. The Knightly boy starts to leave and I get up from my spot behind the tree. I get stopped by the cops. They ask me if I saw anything.I lie. "I just got here to see what was going on after hearing the gun shots" I tell them. Then I give them that innocent girl look that usually gets me whatever I want. The two officers leave looking as though they believe me. I'm glad.
I try to catch up to the knightly boy but he's to fast. I see him about three blocks ahead of me. I run. I see that he makes it home in one peace. I can hear his mom yell at that fact that he's OK. She must have herd about the shootout already. I go to him window. It's closed. The curtain's are drawn and I can see through a small crack. He's in his room. I head for home.
As I walk through the door I stop to make sure my aunt is home. She's in the bathroom. I go into the kitchen and start to make my homemade pizza. Aunt Lynna appears in the doorway. She asks "Did you follow that boy again today?" I give here the "What? Me? Never" looks and smile. She laughs. I then tell her about what went down at the park earlier. The array of looks with different emotions she has from beginning to end makes me laugh when i finish. She first tells me that she's glad to see that I wasn't harmed, then tells me that I'm stupid for not coming home right away. We both laugh.
Aunt Lynna sits at the table while I finish making dinner. We eat while talking about the Knightly boy. She asks me if I learned his name yet. I get embarrassed. I tell her no but I'm hoping to real soon. That makes us both laugh again.
After dinner I go to my room and look towards the window. I wonder if the Knightly bit is thinking about what happened? I look out towards his house. I smile to myself as I turn to go the bed. I fall asleep with his face in my mind.
