"Not a good idea! Not a good idea!" I shriek at Danny, watching him mix chemical A with chemical B!

I'm in science class and I have no idea what were suppose to be doing but the teacher made it very clear not to mix chemical A with B, he told us to mix A and D!

The green serum bubbles over the edge of the glass cylinder, I start to slide back in my stool but Danny stays pined in his spot watching the green liquid seep down the table and onto the floor.

"Emma it's fine" Danny says convincingly, though I think he's trying to convince himself more than me. I'm already convinced that something bad is going to happen.

"That's like one of the top five lies ever used 'it's fine'" I mock trying to impression his deep voice.

"Says who?" he looks back raising an eyebrow.

"Me-" I cut myself off when i notice the cylinder shaking as steam cascades it's way down the edges. "Pay attention to our project!" i hiss, pushing on the side of his face to get him to look over at the green liquid monster he created.

"Holy shit!" shouts Danny when he turns to look at the project, but soon enough he's turns back around and grabs hold of me., cradling me in his muscular arms.

I just make out seeing thick green goo flying everywhere, though I get none on me, for Danny shields me from the guck.

When out project is done exploding I move up to look at the back of Danny's shirt.

"Holy crap take your shirt off!" I scream, looking at the goo sizzle through his shirt. "NOW! It's going through!" I panic.

Danny turns to face me and slides off his shirt keeping his dark brown eyes locked with my silver one's, My eyes trail down his chest but stop half way. 'This is wrong' I think to myself, I'm just his best friend not some weird-- never mind. I turn away from him and scour the area for paper towel.

When the mess is all cleaned up we get to leave class, even though it ended one hour ago. So I missed one class and i'm late for my last one, mid-as well ditch and go to the falls.

"Hey" Danny says jogging to catch up with me "wanna go for a swim at Serenity Falls?" he asks.

"I-"

"I'll take that as a 'yes Danny I would love to'" he mocks in supposedly my voice. He looks at me and I shake my head "oh come on it's your last class and it's almost over, what do have to loose?" nothing.

I nod my head even though i know what a mess I'm getting myself into. The thing is that I cant swim, I know what seventeen-year-old doesn't know how to swim? Tell my mother that! swimmings always been replaced with my parents bickering and fighting about things I don't understand.

"Good lets go!" Danny waves me over to his rusty old Doge pickup truck, we call the old girl Bessey.

NOTE: Hey, OK so that was a short chapter but in this book there all going to be that short so there's more and so the updates will come quicker! (if that made sense)
