My name is Brooke. It was 2 years ago when I was kidnapped. This is my story.
"Brooke! Breakfast is ready! Wake up Birthday Girl!" My mother called from downstairs, I was never a morning person but today I was really excited. Every birthday my mom makes me a special breakfast and my baby sister usually gives me a homemade present.
I walked downstairs to see my mom lighting candles in a stack of pancakes full of whipped cream.
"Huppy Bwithday Brwukie!" My little sister came up to me running into me and giving me a tight hug. She was only 6 years old. I lifted her up into my arms and gave her a kiss on the cheek.
"Thank you Sara." I said to her
"Happy birthday hunny." Said my mom who came up and gave me a tight hug as well. She was like me in many ways. She had brown hair that was long and surrounded her heart shaped face perfectly. She was about my height and she was my best friend.
"I have a surprise for you." She said to me after letting me go so that I could breathe. She held out an envelope. I grinned from ear to ear. I knew it wasn't much of a surprise, it was a note from my father. He sent me a happy birthday letter ever since I was 9 years old. He was off at war right now, surviving his country and making them proud. I took the letter from my mother and placed Sara on the near-by stool. I opened the letter.
Dear my Dearest Brooke;
Happy birthday sweetheart! I can't believe your already 13! Ill come home to visit you surely. I miss you so much. Send my love to your mother and sister.
Love you xoxo;
I smiled to myself, my dad was such a nice guy. He cared about us so much.
"Wut dwus it sway Brwukie?" Sara asked me in confusion
"It says dad will come and visit soon."
Then my sister broke down laughing and smiling from ear to ear. I sat next to her, blew out the candles and ate my pancakes.
"Well," I said after I was done "I better be going to school."
"Okay sweetheart, You have to walk home today though." She said sadly
"Isn't it my birthday?" I asked her laughing
"Of course!" she said "I just have to drop Sara off at her friends."
"That's fine mom, I don't mind walking."
I jumped off my stool giving Sara a peck on the cheek, gave my mom a hug and said thank you. I then grabbed my school bag and went out the door.
Chapter two: Stranger!
(Very short chapter!)
School went by me in a flash. I got lots of birthday wishes and hugs.
"Happy birthday my love." Jeremy said teasingly before putting his arm across my shoulders. He was my best friend though I liked him more than just that. People always thought we were dating, so to tease people, he would say things like 'My love' or 'dearest'.
"Thank you." I said giggling "Well I have to get back home." I said. He frowned.
"Ok Hunny, Ill see you at home!" He shouted, everyone looked at us wide eyed. He snickered before walking away.
I walked out of the school doors and went into the field. I wanted to take a short cut since it was a little chilly out. I wrapped my arms around myself. I was halfway through the field when I heard something. It sounded like a voice but I couldn't be sure, it blended into the wind.
"Brooke! My love! My Sweetheart!" I thought it was Jeremy being funny again so I kept walking until I found the source of the voice. I got closer until I could make out who it was. It wasn't Jeremy.
Tinas POV (Brookes Mom)
"Where could she be? I know it's her birthday but she was supposed to be home hours ago." I said pacing the room with the home phone clutched in my hand. I have called her many times but there has been no answer
"Im swure shell be home swoon mommy." My little 6 year old darling, Sara said to me in the cutest voice. She and Her sister Sara were my angels sent from above. I loved them with all my heart, and when I found out that their dad was going to war, they were the ones who made my day.
"Sweetie shouldn't you be in bed by now?" I asked her
"But Mommy, I want to wait twill Brwukie comes home." She said
I looked at her straight in the eyes. I picked up the phone in my hands, opened it and called a different number.
