"Not gonna let you down, let you down easy.
You're gonna feel it inside, it's gonna eat you alive.
And when I walk away, walk away believe me
The pain will say I told you so
a-oh, oh oh," I sing out while I wash my hair. I always belt out songs in the shower. And then I pretend to except Grammy's, the shampoo bottle, after my 'award winning performance'.
I've said too much.
I rinse out the last of the suds and rake my fingers through my think pile of abused blonde hair. Is it scary that I almost forget what I look like blonde? It's weird how quickly you adapt to changes. I dry out my real hair and then tie it up into the bun it's been forced into lately. I brush out the wig gently and look at it. I can't decide if I really want to wear it straight again. I look at it long and hard but it isn't doing anything cool on its own so I guess I have to actually work on it.
I put my cap on so I can get use to the band digging into my scalp and squeezing my brain out my ears. It's better to put it on earlier rather than later. It gives me time to get used to it. I set the wig on the model head and begin putting the long brown locks into three parts. I fishtail all three chunks and then I braid the fishtails together. I must say, I am a genius for coming up with this. It works so cool with long hair and all...braid like...and stuff.
I put the wig on and secure it tightly before picking out my outfit of high waisted jean shorts and white, flowy top. I put on some blue socks that have a silly picture of a monkey on it, but no shoes. I find shoes unnecessary inside a household. I skip out to the TV area and greet everybody before flinging myself at Amanda and Louis.
"Good God woman!" Louis blurts out, gripping his tummy.
"Awh. Want me to kiss the booboo?" I tease. Heh. Booboo. Boobear.... Thank God I didn't say that out loud. Louis pouts out his lower lip and nods his head. He looks so cute, like a little kid.
"Fine," I press my lips onto his toned abs. When I come back up I roll my eyes at him and give him my 'unimpressed' face even though there was a six pack on my face. Oh my God. Oh my God. Oh my God.
"What are we watching?" I ask, trying to keep a cool exterior though I am sure all the guys, even in China, can see right through me.
"The swimming part of the Olympics," Zayn answers. Louis slings his arm around my shoulders and I scoot into him. Amanda and Niall are doing the same next to me. I smile at Amanda and she smiles crazy big back. I mean, look at us! We are chilling with One Direction! This was our dream for so long.
"Oh my God. Ship Ryan Lochte to my house in a brown UPS box," I coo at the screen. If only he would wear a speedo..."OH! And Tom Daley."
"You'll need a big box for that package," Amanda winks at me and we both toss our heads back in laughter. The guys, however, look horrified. Louis flips the channels.
"What was that for?" I tease. I could tell he is a little jealous but I think it's kind of cute. He looks at me and I bite my bottom lip.
"Stop that," he teases back and I bite my lip again, slowly and flirtatiously.
"OH JANE BY DESIGN! YES!" Amanda cheers and I take the remote out of Louis's hand and throw it across the room.
"What was that for?" he mocks in a high pitched voice and I stick my tongue out at him.
"We love this show!" Amanda and I chorus, then fist bump at our synchronization.
"Fine," Louis fake grumbles before kissing my cheek.
"What's this show about?" Liam asks, his facial expressions show he is generally interested in the show.
"Jane, a teenager who lands a job at Donovan Decker. They mistake her for an adult. Jane soon finds herself juggling life both as a regular high school student and as an assistant to a high powered executive in the cutthroat world of fashion... all while trying to keep her true identity a secret. Billy, the Mohawk guy, is her best friend. Her older brother Ben just got recruited for the Major Leagues baseball. And their mom, who has abandoned them for most of their life just ran off to get married so Jane is all alone now," I explain. We watch for a little bit till the end of this season's finale.
"Why doesn't she just tell them she is a teenager? I don't understand why she'd lie about her identity. It's pointless!" Louis rants at the end of the show. I can feel my cheeks flushing due to Amanda burning holes into the side of my head. I just keep my eyes on the feet. Everything Louis has been saying lately has been making me feel so guilty. It's almost like he knows I'm faking. But he couldn't.
