I didn’t have much homework tonight so I cleaned up around the house as I waited for Ayden. I shouldn’t assume he’s always going to be the pizza delivery guy. One day I might get a fat old guy.

The door bell rang and I hurried down stairs. I fixed my ponytail and opened the door.

Ayden was here holding my pizza. I paid him and took the box.

“Keep the change,” I said smiling.

“You left this pen in the back seat of my car, I figured you wanted it,” he said pulling out my pen from his pocket.

I smiled as I took it. “I was looking all over for it,” I said sarcastically.

The end of his lips pulled up a little. “Have a nice night, Erica”.

“You too, Ayden,” I said closing the door.

I smiled and held the pen close to me. Am I whipped or what?

I eat my pizza as I watched a little T.V. afterwards I finished cleaning and went to bed.

The next morning was the same routine. My mom pretended to be sober and act like a parent while Tessa bitched about nothing before taking me to school. She dropped me off two blocked away from school and I walked the rest of the way.

I meet up with Miles and Everett at our lockers.

“Hey Miles!” a chick in our grade said as the rest of her friends giggled and another looked away.

He smiled and waved before turning to face us.

“What?” Everett asked. “Melody’s cute”.

“She’s not my type…” he said rolling his eyes.

“Who is your type? I don’t think this person exists?”

“She’s out there…” he said resting his head against the lockers.

“Hey Erica!”

I turned around and smiled at Emily. “Hey Em, thanks for the ride.”

“No problem, do you need one today?”

“I’m not sure, I’ll let you know.”

“Okay. You haven’t seen Ayden have you?”

“No, I just got here.”

“Okay, I’ll see you around.”

“Bye,” I said as she walked away, waving to Everett and Miles.

“Who was that?” Miles asked.

“And why is she looking for Pizza Boy?”

“That is Emily, Ayden’s girl friend…”

“Of course she’s taken!” Miles said throwing his hands in the air.

“You just meet her,” I said.

“But she’s perfect!”

“Ignore him!” Everett said pushing passed him. “He has a girlfriend?”

“Yeah…”

“What?”

“It’s a long story.”

“We got time!” she said. “Look there he is! Talk to him.”

“And say what?”

“Words, do it!”

“Hey Ayden…”

He looked over at me and nodded his head.

“Emily was looking for you.”

“Yeah…she texted me…”

“Oh…okay…”

“Will you be ordering pizza tonight?”

I smiled a little, “if my mom didn’t eat the rest of it.”

“I’ll be looking forward to it,” he said before walking away.

I smiled and looked at Everett.

“I am so proud of you…” she said hugging me.

I laughed and tried to pull her off of me. “Chill out, he’s still taken.”

“I don’t care. This is a mile stone.”

I rolled my eyes as the bell rang.

“I’ll see you guys at lunch.”

*******

I forgot my lunch money. If I had a dollar for every time I did that, I could move out of my house. I went to my locker and looked threw my coat pocket.

“Hey pretty momma!”

I turned around and found Tessa’s boyfriend walking up to me.

I rolled my eyes.

“That’s all I get?”

“Considering that you’re dating my sister and I don’t like you…yes” I said grabbing my lunch money and heading to the cafeteria.

“Wait up!” he said jogging over to me.

“Why?”

“Because I like you,” he said walking next to me.

“Then why are you sleeping with my sister?”

“I can’t turn down a pretty girl.”

“You’re disgusting!” I said facing him.

“Aw come on? I’m not that bad.”

“Leave me alone!”

“Ricky!”

Ricky and I turned to look at Ayden who just happened to be walking in the hallway with Emily.

“Leave her alone,” he said.

“I wasn’t doing anything…” Ricky said.

“I said leave her a lone.”

I smiled. “I’ll see you never.” I said to Ricky before heading to the cafeteria.
