CHAPTER 2

The rest of English was absolutely awful. Everyone kept looking back at me on the floor, giving me those irritating pity looks. The guy, on the other hand, paid no attention to the girl he had dumped onto the ground. As for the teacher, he didn't say a word until after class, where he told me that he would have a desk brought in for me.

No, 'Hey Bella, sorry for being a wuss and not controlling the class when that assh*le was being a jerk to you.'

Yeah... kind of hating this teacher already.

As soon as class was over, the guy nearly trampled me, being the first one to leave. As soon as I got out, I began my search for my locker.

Locker #: 143

Ha. Isn't that cute? -____-

I made my way past the barreling students coming my way, only to realize I had been going the wrong way.

"Damn it!" I cursed under my breath.

A nearby girl talking with her group of friends looked over at me and smiled, making her way to me.

"New here?" She asked

"Yeah... that obvious?"

She laughed and pointed my file in my hand.

"Here, let me see your schedule." She said, gently taking the sheet from my hands.

I watched her as she scanned through it, her eyes lighting up as she went down the list.

"We have every class together!" She shrieked, hugging me. Baffled, I managed to give her a small hug back.

"Wait... if we have every class together, where were you during English?" I asked, confused.

"Oh, yeah, I had a doctor's appointment." She explained, "What's your locker number?"

"I43."

Her eyes widened and she looked ecstatic, "You're right next to me!"

I smiled at her as we started walking to the lockers.

"So, what's your name?" I asked casually.

"Jessica Poston," She told me while directing me away from a swarm of student coming our way.

"Bellatrix Brown." I said as we got to the lockers.

"Wow.... That's a gorgeous name!" She said, grinning at me. I blushed and opened my locker, leaving my English literature book inside while keeping the rest in my backpack.

"So did you move here from England?" She asked.

"Yeah, London, actually." I smiled back.

"I've always wanted to go to London..." She murmured trailing off.

After I closed my locker, I leaned against it, unsure if I should ask my next question.

"Um, there's this guy-" I started

"First day and you already have your eyes set on someone! A girl with motive! I like that!" She said cheerfully.

"Oh no! Nothing like that!" I exclaimed, slightly horrified.

"Oh... well, then... who is he?"

"Well, that's the thing, I don't know his name. All I know is that when he showed up late for class-"

"The room went silent?" She guessed

"Yeah, how'd you-"

"Connor Michaels. Listen, that guy is bad news. He is dangerous and deceiving, and if you know what's best for you... you'll stay away." She warned me, her tone low- all traces of happiness were long gone.
