Dedicated to anida, she's a great person to talk to and her story she is gonna make them sweat is amazing. Here' s the next chapter of prodigy, hope you like it.

I had no idea what I was doing. Heck I had no idea where I was. I was off to save a guy I had never met before, purely because I felt sorry for him and I find myself in a part of The Lab that I've never seen before. Luck is totally on my side, I thought to my self, even though no one else could here my sarcasm. I felt like one of them guys in a spy movie, or someone breaking a friend out of jail except the only difference was this wasn't a movie and I wasn't having fun.

Ever since I left the room there was one question that burned through my mind. It was Annie who had suggested it and without her I don't think the thought would have ever come across my mind.

"If there was a fire when the alarm rang, why would they tie us up and leave us in a room where we could easily die from the fire, especially after they've gone through all the trouble protecting us, I mean they seclude us from the world and we've only just met Nick now so this whole thing doesn't make any sense," Annie's words played over in my mind. She was right it really didn't make any sense and this whole escape thing seemed a bit far fetched to me but I knew I really wanted to get out of here. It wasn't as harsh as a prison, we got free time, we knew what was going on in the world around us, we could watch movies, read books and whatever but we weren't allowed to wonder where we wanted to. Security was tight from all angles, I could see that from my 2 hours outside everyday, there was a fence surrounding the perimeter of the building and guards that patrolled it, even during the night .

My mind focused back to reality when I though I heard footsteps coming my way. I looked back to the door I had come out of and signalled to Annie that someone might be coming. She understood and closed the door a bit more making it look as if it was closed. I took refuge in the corner of a wall where from where I heard the person coming from couldn't see me. I crouched down low, hoping there was enough darkness not to create a shadow. I dared a glance round the corner and saw it was a guard that had been making his way here. From my first glance he looked as if he was unarmed but when I looked again my eyse widened in horror seeing a hand gun tucked in by his belt. I suddenly realised that if all the guards were armed we would be hopelessly outnumbered and if anything went wrong it could just as easily turn into a bloodbath especially because me and Kaylie hadn't regained our powers at full strength.

The guard warily walked the hallways making sure everything was in place and there were no intruders. Finally I sighed as the guard turned a corner and was out of site. I glanced back to the door of the room and saw Kaylie peeking out through door looking if the guard was gone. She tiptoed out of the room, making her way towards me as the second part of our plan started to take place. Annie had already come to the conclusion that the boy was probably being held in a room identical to the one we were in. Me and Kaylie were gonna be look outs in case any guards came and Annie would be the one looking for the door seeing as she could pick the lock.

I made sure the coast was clear from the side I was on and Kaylie did the same, making sure no one was coming we signalled to Annie to come out and start looking for the door. She walked out of the room, still being cautious, afraid that someone may see or hear us, and started to search frantically for any clue that may tell us where the boy was. After about a minute of just looking at the doors, Annie gave up and started opening the doors. I was about to ask her what she was doing when she suddenly found a door that was locked. We had all jumped to the same conclusion, this was the only door in the whole corridor to have been locked, it was obvious something or someone important was behind it. Annie yelped out in excitement and quickly got to work, trying to pick the lock. After a couple minutes of fiddling about with the lock we heard it click open. We all drew in sharp breaths, wondering if what we were looking for was inside or if it was just a wild goose chase. Well we were about to find out. I took hold of the handle and pushed the door open. What was inside was nothing like what we were looking for.
