This whole chapter is a flashback, I think it deserves it

"Sandy?"

His voice sent shivers through my body, not the good type either. I think.

We were waiting outside, at the back of the house, my hands covered in warm blood, my clothes covered in sticky blood and my heart cold as we waited for services to show up and see ou-my failure. My eyes were shut, all I could see was him laying on the ground blood pouring from his wounds.

I can't believe this happened.

"There was nothing w-we could do you know,"

Yes, I should have been inside, I should never have trusted someone else, I should have worked solo.

I bit my lip drawing blood narrowing my eyes, this had never happened before, never. How careless was I?

My teeth were clenched so hard my jaw was finally protesting asking me to release them. But I was afraid if I did, I would snap like my self control.

I felt someone move behind me, their chest against my back, a bit too close, a hand on my shoulder and my eyes opened. I was seeing red.

"Don't touch me!" I gritted it out shrugging his hold off me.

"Wha-," his hand grabbed mine as I tried to walk away and I spun around his eyes widening when he saw the gun was pointing to his chest. Instinct.

"Sandy-,"

"Shut up Daniel," I spat. His eyebrows furrowed as he looked confused. I don't think he understood what this meant.

I have never, ever, failed, and to think I was played like an instrument, perfectly orchestrated. His eyes searched mine and his hold on me weakened.

"How?"

I laughed, throwing my head back but it wasn't a funny laugh I had, it was a disgusted, sarcastic laugh.

"What do you take me for?" I stepped forward the gun digging into his chest making him move back, "Honestly? I thought you would have done more research,"

While my right hand kept the gun in place my left hand dug into my pocket pulling out the capsule chucking it in his face, "I can recognize a bullet, especially one that is issued to us by our own agency,"

His eyes narrowed, did he seriously think I was stupid? I scoffed rolling my eyes, this guy was an idiot after all. Too bad his grandfather didn't tell him who he was working with, who his partner was.

Because maybe if he knew what level of an assassin I was meant to be, he would have played his cards safer. And maybe if I acted like the assassin I was with everyone else, I woudln't have let this happen.

He raised his hands suddenly gripping the gun, not trying to push it away but held it more firmly, "Go on, do it,"

I clenched my teeth, did he think I wouldn't? Because I would. I just needed to think first.

"Why?" I asked, I didn't have to open my mouth and explain what my question was. I wasn't asking why he wants me to shoot him, oh no that was fairly obvious, I was asking why he did it. Why he went against his grandfathers orders, we had a set rules of what to do, and we were meant to do them.
