I walked down the empty streets with my head hung low. I dragged my blue suitcase behind me and carried my heavy backpack, which was now starting to give me a stiff back.
An ominous mist hung in the air, giving me an uneasy feel.
Across the street from me, a group of drunk young adults came stumbling out of a club, laughing and talking like they had no worries in the world.
I scoffed at their reckless behavior and continued walking to, well, nowhere. I wasn't sure where I was going because I didn't have any place to go.
A light winter breeze rolled by me, sending shivers down my sine. I rubbed my arms for warmth and pulled the hood of my jacket over my head. Even though it's only late November, it feels like December out here.
Cold, tired, hungry and homeless. I don't have any friends to go to, because I don't have any friends at all. No family to go to, because none of my family live here.
So I'm basically screwed....
It was nearing 1 in the morning I'm guessing.
The sweet smell of fresh baked bread and bacon went past my nose, drawing me into its taunting deliciousness. I wish I had money...
I followed the scent until it led me to a locally owned restaurant whose name I didn't catch. It was the type of place that was open during late hours like these, and serving breakfast all day. As I recall, you could even order chocolate covered bacon, which would've sounded disgusting to me a few weeks ago, but now I would eat anything.
I stopped at the window and started gazing at all the glorious food that past by. My eyes landed on a young guy sitting next to the window, writing in a notebook and eating a sandwich.
He had long black hair and his eyes looked brown from where I was standing. He was wearing a black button up shirt and black skinny jeans, and might I say his hair looked amazing!
My mouth started to water at the look of his food. I was so hungry!
As if he could feel my eyes on him, he looked up at me. I looked up from his food and at his face.
That's when I realized who he was. He's Ashley Purdy! The sexy bassist from my favourite band, Black Veil Brides.
I was a little star struck, until I snapped out of it and quickly walked away, since I already looked like a creeper!
I quickly crossed the street and glanced back at the restaurant before continuing walking to nowhere.
I looked down at the ground, completely embarrassed that I looked like a weirdo in front of one of my idols!
I mentally counted every crack I walked over on the sidewalk, praying that I wasn't actually breaking my mother's back with everyone I stepped on.
A pair of black sneakers stepped into view which made me come to an abrupt halt.
I looked up and in front of me was a hooded man. I couldn't see his face, but I knew that I should try to get away from him as soon as possible.
I tried to side-step around him, but was blocked by him. He grabbed the back of my neck and pressed a sharp blade to my cheek. He leaned into my ear and whispered, "Just keep quiet and I'll make this as painless as possible for you."
I rammed the edge of my suitcase into his thigh, which made him let go of me and cry out in pain. I kicked him in the stomach, sending him to the floor, groaning.
I dropped my suitcase and backpack and took off running in the direction I came from.
