Chapter 13

'The Little Green Monster'

Two weeks had passed since Sedric returned home from the island, yet he still couldn’t forget about Jade. Not a single day went by that his mind wasn’t constantly preoccupied with images of his buttercup. Every possible scenario had passed through his thoughts, from simply seeing her smile to fucking her senseless. He’d pictured her on top of his desk, her full breasts bouncing against the wooden surface as he pounded into her from behind. He’d imagined her waiting at his apartment, naked in his bed, her pûssy already dripping wet from thinking about him. He’d… Dammit!

Sedric felt like a hôrny teenager all over again. Countless cold showers and unsatisfying hand jobs later, he found himself waiting outside Jade’s apartment. He’d opened his door at least three times to get out, but every time slammed it shut just as quickly. His mind was fighting a battle. Part of him wanted nothing more than to knock on Jade’s door and tell her he couldn’t forget about her, the other despised himself for even debating the idea.

Her need for revenge almost cost him his career. How could he still want her after that? It wasn’t just unaltered lust either. He still loved her, the goddamned fool he was. The more he thought about it, the more ridiculous he felt. He shouldn’t be waiting outside her apartment. She didn’t deserve his love. Sadly, the heart doesn’t listen to objective reasoning. He could curse himself all he wanted, but it wouldn’t change his feelings.

The moment Jade’s front door opened, Sedric’s eyes widened as a shocked gasp left his lips. No way. Something snapped inside of him at the sight of Tyler Wellington stepping out of Jade’s apartment, his shirt still slightly unbuttoned as he pressed a quick peck against Jade’s lips. It was never a secret that Tyler liked to play the field. The guy didn’t do relationships. It was one of the ways he and Sedric were alike.

Shocked to the core, Sedric watched as Tyler got into his car and drove off. Jade waved goodbye to him, her cheeks still slightly rosy, undoubtedly from the physical work-out Tyler put her through. Sedric couldn’t believe his goddamned eyes. While he’d been thinking about her day and night, Jade was fucking some other guy. The nerve of her!

Furious beyond measure, Sedric pushed his car door open and strode over to Jade’s front door at a fast pace. He knocked twice, almost breaking down the goddamned door as he impatiently waited. A minute – it could easily have been an hour – later, Jade unlocked the door and pushed it open. A surprised gasp left her lips as she noticed Sedric standing in front of her.

“What are you doing here?” she questioned, looking startled. Jade hadn’t expected Sedric to stop by today, or frankly ever. After their separation, she’d been certain he’d move on to his next prey, some hot model or actress.

Just her luck he needed to stop by a few minutes after Jade threw Tyler out after two hours of exhausting séx. They’d been ‘hanging out’ for a week now, yet Tyler still hadn’t succeeded in making her forget about the man standing in front of her. She had no complaints about his skills in the bedroom, but he just couldn’t set her on fire the way Sedric could. One look from her first lover and she was putty in his hands. Tyler had to work a lot harder to get her that excited.

“What the hell was Tyler Wellington doing here?” Sedric spat, not beating around the bush, his voice low and filled with venom. He looked livid, his features twisting in rage as his eyes pierced Jade’s. His usual warm charcoal orbs turned into dark endless pits.

Fury rose inside Jade’s chest as they stared each other down, their gazes locked in a silent battle. How dare he show up out of nowhere and lash out at her? He agreed that they would go their separate ways. He didn’t have the right to make any sort of claim on her. She decided to move forward with her life and he’d better damn well accept it!
