I have a savanna heart

I won't be cabin'd, cribb'd, confin'd.

To hell with avoiding risk

there are claws in couches too -  Lilliputian perhaps

but many barbs make sharp dirks.

Pretty gewgaws fascinate

but can't content, the distant scent

of wind-stirred grass and pride-spawned musk pulls sinews     tight.

Keep your snivelling security, your matching lamps and pastel shirts

I go to hunt fresh meat.

And when I have savaged the flesh I have found

filled my gut to painful distension

I will crack the bones

and suck the delicious pabulum till there's not a globule more.
