--Mari--

Phillip asked, “So what do we do Mari?”

“I have no idea…”

I looked back at the four people sitting down in front. I really wanted to talk to them but my body yelled no. I was ready to turn around when I saw that I was walking to them. I mentally yelled turn around, run away but none of that worked.

As soon as I was close to them they all turned their attention to me. The lady on the left started to speak Italian but I did not understand her. WAIT!!! Wasn't the lady on the right the Portuguese grandparent.

As I pondered this Phillip came up behind me and asked, "Mari what are you doing?"

The lady on the right answered with a thick Portuguese accent, "Ohh you speak English. Sorry I thought you were one of the nurses. Everyone here speaks Italian since we are in Italy."

I finally got a word out, "No problem..."

I looked over the four of them noticing the man on the left had a thinking face on since Phillip said my name. The elderly man finally asked, "Wait a minute..." He got up from his seat. "Mari... Marjorie... Marjorie our granddaughter."

All their faces lite up. I comment on his statement by saying, "Hi grandmas and grandpas."

  Their faces became very shocked after I said my comment. This has started really bad.

They invited us to sit but since then there was a silence in our group. No one would say a word mostly because my grandparents keep looking at me trying to figure me out. I had to end this silence. I think I am going to kill someone soon if this silence does not end.

"Sorry but I here to ask you guys a couple of questions."

My Portuguese grandfather Joao answered, "Please...We don't mind."

I smiled, "I am just a bit confessed about everything. You see we want to know about our past.... and have followed all these clues which have lead us to here... but we am really confused still."

Delia my Italian grandmother said, "Would you like us to explain everything?"

I answered with, "Please...Tell me everything."

Giuseppe my Italian grandfather started, "Well our story starts when you parents were eighteen. You see in the past all noble bloods should have their arranged married by time they are eighteen. That is not the case now but back then is was really important. So when your parents Mari turned eighteen all of us went out and found them their perfect partner."

"So you guys were going to do an arranged marriage for my parents?"

Carolina agreed, "Yes...Your mother was going to marry a noble blood of one of Portugal's many islands while your father was going to marry the Ethiopian princess. The thing is they did not take it to well so they both ran away to Kekepania. Phillip's parents were friends with you parents and in the end Phillip's parents set up your parents." How the hell did they know about Phillip?

Giuseppe then added, "So when the World Court found out they demanded that we split them up. So we did as we were told but that ended badly since your parents ran away to England and had...Well...You."

I swallowed hard, "What happened after?"

Joao answered with, "We brought them to the World Court and they said that you would be put up for adoption. Then your parents would have to continue with the plans of arranged marriage. Your parents become angry and ran away to Greece for nine years. When the World Court finally found them they brought them to Portugal."

Tears started to fall down all their faces.

"Is there more?" I need to know.

Carolina gained some strength and said, "We talked to your parents but they did not listen. So your parents grabbed you and were going to drove off a bridge so that you could all be together but last minutes your parent threw you out of the car while they fell to their deaths."

Tears fell down everyone's face including Phillip's and mine. Delia then grabbed Carolina hand and continued, "After all that we were all broken. The only thing we had was you and we were so scared to lose you. So we left you with Fatima your mother's sister and Mario your father's brother."
