Isabella's POV

As soon as the bell rang, I said a quick goodbye to Thomas before I ran over to Amanda. I grabbed her hand as we made our way to our next class.

Oh God, those forty minutes were the longest in my life! All I wanted to do was scream at Thomas for being so annoying! But I already knew I couldn't do that. For my plan to work I needed him to fall for me, and for that to happen I need to be around him a lot. Which also means I can't be mean to him. Ugh! That's going to take a lot of effort on my part.

The only good thing that happened during lunch was Rachel getting jealous. The look on her face was priceless.

"Isabella!"

"What?" I asked, my smile never leaving my face.

Amanda sighed, rolling her brown eyes at me. "I was calling your name for the past minute, you know?"

I blinked, looking at her in confusion. "You were?"

"Yeah." She nodded. "What were you thinking about?" she asked.

"Oh you know." I shrugged, "just the look on Rachel's face when Thomas let me sit in 'his seat'."

"Oh yeah!" Amanda eyes widened and she snapped her fingers. "That was definitely a sight to see."

"Totally," I said. "But sadly, that was the only good thing that happened during lunch."

"Thomas?" she questioned knowingly.

"Yeah. He's being too nice."

"But isn't that a good thing?" she asked while tilting her head to the side, her hair covering her eye.

"Yes, but it's just too weird, you know? I mean, I've never seen that side of him before. Him buying me lunch, preparing my food for-"

"Wait a minute!" Amanda screamed, cutting me off. "He paid for your lunch?"

I blinked. "Um, yeah, what's wrong with that?"

"Isabella," Amanda said, grabbing my shoulders and staring dead at me. "You should know that Thomas never ever pays for people."

"Why not?"

"I'm not sure." She shrugged, "but he doesn't. He never once paid for Rachel, ever!"

"I'm sure it's nothing." I mean, he probably did pay for Rachel before but people just never saw. Rachel would never be caught dead eating the school's food.

"I don't know..." Amanda trailed off, wagging her finger in my face. "I think he's starting to like you," she sang happily.

"Let's hope so," I said. "The sooner he does, the sooner I can stop being nice to him."

"Don't worry, he will! With your beauty and awesome personality, I'm one-hundred percent sure he's going to fall for you- and hard!"

I let out a light chuckle. She looked so serious when she said that. I just hope she's right.

 ***

At the end of the day, I headed towards my locker, not missing the stares I got from a group of guys. I tried to ignore them while opening my locker and putting some of my books away.

Slamming my locker shut, I turned around, ready to go home, when my head crashed into something hard. I felt my body falling backwards when a warm hand caught me. I opened my eyes and saw none other than Thomas Reed. Great... Him again.

He pulled me up, wrapping his arms around my waist. Trying not to break his arm, I looked up at him. "What do you want Thomas?"

"I just wanted to see if you wanted to hang out today?"

"Let me see," I said tapping my finger on my chin pretending to think it over. "No," I answered quickly before I removed his hands from my waist.

I made it down the hallway when I felt someone grab my hand. "Oh come on, please?" his annoying voice begged.

"Why?" I asked, turning to face him.

"Because if you say yes, I promise you it'll be fun." He smirked, looking all smug.

"Oh really?" I challenged, crossing my arms across my chest. I tapped my foot impatiently as I waited for his answer.

His smirk wavered a bit before he nodded confidently.

"What about Rachel? She is your girlfriend."

"She's busy at the moment," was his only reply.

I stared at him as he waited for my answer. Even though I hated to admit it, hanging out with him outside of school was the next step in my plan.

"Fine," I sighed. "Where do you want to go?"

His face brightened up, the corners of his lips turning upwards. "How about we go bowling?"

"Bowling?"

He nodded, taking my hand in his. "Yeah come on, it'll be fun."
