Unaccepted Mate

Blair, Clare, Grace, Audrey, Ren, and I were all in my room trying to play charades again. This time we had split the sets of twins. Me and Blair. Clare and Grace, Audrey and Ren. Blair and I got along great. We played pranks on people all the times. I was the mischievous one and she was the smart one that put it all together.

All of a sudden we heard a splash and a girl screaming. Blair and I jumped up and looked at each other. Clare, Grace, Audrey, and Ren jumped up and growled, thinking someone was being attacked. Since I came home and told them about my eventful lunch today everyone's been on edge.

"Avery! Blair! You two are dead," Ashley yelled. I looked around looking for an escape route. Before I knew it Blair was half way out the window. I pushed her through and then burst through the window. I jumped off the roof and ran.

I heard Ashley yelling behind me but that only got me to run faster. Before anyone could stop me I was by the lake. Since I was a red wolf I could run a bit faster than everyone else so Ashley was most likely chasing after Blair and would wait until I got home. I heard Blair's screams and they were quickly followed by Ashley's laughter. Since she would take a while getting back at Blair I decided to go home and eat before locking myself in my room for the rest of the night.

"I wish I could have seen her face," I muttered when I quietly shut the door. I managed to get home quickly and quietly while Ashley and Blair were still screaming and laughing.

"It was pretty funny. It was kind of a mixture between anger and shock but it quickly turned to anger," a laughing voice said. I whirled around accidentally slapping my hand on the counter. At the table was Tobey, Jake, Cameron, and Corey sitting at the table. All still shirtless. 

"Do you guys even own shirts," I asked. Not that I was complaining or anything but I had to know whether or not I needed to control my drooling all the time. I shook my hand and held it in my other hand. Red wolves maybe really strong but I was most certainly a pain and danger magnet.

"What? Ya don't like what you see," Corey asked. I thought he was a quiet person but apparently he was a quite cocky person. I opened my mouth to give him a smart remark but I heard the door close behind me. Thinking it was Ashley, I quickly ran to the other side of the island in the middle out the kitchen. Instead, it was just Ren. She was staring at Cameron. Her mouth was pretty close to hanging on the floor. 

"Ren whenever you are done doing whatever try to clean up your drool. There's a big puddle at your feet," I smirked. She snapped out of it and ran her fingers along the edge of her mouth like she really was wiping drool off of her face. Then she looked at me annoyed. 

"Do you wanna sit here," Cameron said jumping out of his chair so fast he bumped into the corner of the table with his hip. Something that would usually hurt really bad he didn't seem to notice. He motioned his hands for her to sit there. I looked at Cameron then Ren confused. All of the guys looked at Cameron like he was nuts. 

"Sure," Ren said her whole face turning pink. 

"Care bear come help me real quick," I said a bit loud. I hoped she had heard me. She was the third oldest maybe she knew what was going on.

"Yea sure what do yo- Ren are you blushing?" she asked, coming into the room.

"Good. At least now I know I ain't imagining things," I muttered. Ren never blushed. When she liked a guy she talked to him like any other guy. No stuttering. No blushing. Just talked like the guy was her best friend.

"N-n-no," she stuttered. "I'm naturally pink in the cheeks." I burst out laughing. Ren wasn't just pink in the cheeks now she was pink all over. I had to hold on to the island I was laughing so hard. 

"Hey be nice to her," Cameron demanded, coming over and pushing me to the ground. I looked up at him in shock. His eyes changed color. 

"Oh my gosh are you okay?" Ren asked, rushing over. 

"I'm fine. I might have a few bruises though," I said, starting to get up.

"Not you," she said coldly. "How are you?" She wrapped her arms around Cameron's arm and looked up at him like she had just seen the sun in years. 

"I think Ren has found her mate," Clare announced. Those were the last words I heard before I fake passed out from shock. Ever since I was younger I learned how to fake pass out. I was able to get myself out of it anytime but, I wouldn't hear or see anything. It was almost like I was asleep.
