For being the most awesome person ever ;)

(Song on the side because I thought it fitted the story of the poem well. Also because it's a really good song so... Enjoy!)

There is a girl, who sits and waits,

Inside a shell of insecurity.

She shields her eyes, and hides her face,

For the World would shatter her purity.

She'll sometimes look, at her reflection,

wondering where she'd gone.

Or wishing that she'd go back in time,

To mend all of her wrongs.

But time is fragile, each stitch will stay.

To fix it an impossible deed.

So instead the girl, just sat and cried,

Because there was nothing left to heed.

But then one day, when the sun was hidden,

She took a step outside.

She decided to search, for her longings forbidden,

In hopes to find her pride.

And as the girl, in all her innocence,

Attempted to scour the land;

She came across, a fragile heart.

A hope to hold in her hand.

She soon discovered, that it was her own,

A throbbing and beating thing.

One that was broken, and not yet whole.

And only she could make it sing.

And so the girl, with her hopes still high,

Sewed up the heart once more.

She mended it, and held it to the sky;

No longer shattered on the shore.

Now the girl, she sits and waits

Without her mask of false demurity,

Because she has, her heart again,

And nothing can shatter her surety...
