One Again

Do soul locked eyes of lovers see

The span of our small galaxy

Within the eyes that they adore

When they meet on this earthly shore?

Do they recall just playing games

While choosing how they look and names

That they will use this time around,

Or are their true thoughts more profound?

Do choices made before their birth

Restrict free will while on the earth,

Or is there life outside the lines,

Gone off the grid, beyond the signs?

Do laid out plans predestinate

Or simply fuel more hot debate,

About the depths of freedom's choice

To hear or not that still small voice?

When on this side and looking back,

The glass we're looking through seems black,

Except for pin prick points of light,

Revealing just the smallest sight

Of what we left to sojourn here,

How little that we need to fear.

When planning, we're so positive

Of who we'll be and how we'll live,

That there may be some points we miss,

When wrapped inside our clouds of bliss.

It seems the vast majority

Forget what they had planned to be

Or how the plan had been laid out

Before rebirth, maybe too stout.

The lessons that we planned to learn,

Are not so easy to discern

When growing up and searching love,

For that hand to fit your glove.

But getting back to starry eyes,

To me it comes as not surprise

When lover's souls click into place,

Recalling more than our small space,

When stellar light shown from within

Becomes the sign they're one again.
