I know it's hard picturing them as parents but think of it as ( MILF and DILF - not my words, someone else's comments) , some parents just get even better looking as they get older.

Ivory and Darius are in their mid 40's now, as Ivory was 24-25 when she had Sapphire and Sapphire is now 20-21.

I rushed out of the car as soon as Tristan parked in the driveway leaving him with the bag duty, he deserved it for playing horrible music through out the whole car ride, and refused to change it when I asked, nicely.

"Mum?" I called out when I opened the door, silence greeted me. I kicked off my shoes as I walked in placing them by the doorway, something my mum hated.  It wasn't that I didn't listen to her, but after a tiring journey I couldn't be bothered hoisting these into the shoe cupboard, even if it was just beside me.

"Kitchen!" I heard her call back. I smiled, did she know it was me?

I cringed as I quickly rushed into the kitchen, "Mum why are you in the ki-" my voice caught as I stared at the scene trying not to laugh. My mother was dressed in one of those pathetic frilly aprons you see and laugh about with her hair in a tight bun, only loose now and falling all over her shoulders.

She looked up her face in flushed in shock and upset as she stared at me, "I was trying to make cookies," she whined like a little girl and I bit my lip from laughing. Her dark brown eyes staring into my own.

Well this was a nice greeting.

"Mum," I groaned scratching my neck as I walked up to her and sighed. She was currently trying to scrape brown cookies off the tray, they were so burnt that when I touched it the flakes stuck to my finger and I waved it trying to get it off.

"Why are you trying to cook again, I thought we established that dad will do the cooking." I said looking at the mess she made. I walked over and turned the oven off, somehow she even forgot to do that.

My mum bit her lower lip looking like a cat that was caught stealing milk and I shook my head smiling.

"The internet said it was easy," she whined coming over and hugging me, "You're home," and she smelt like home, comfort.

"Of course it did," I said rolling my eyes as I hugged her as I heard the door open. Was dad back already? Or was that Tristan, I should go help him with the bags but instead I heard another voice.

"I'm home," he yelled making us both smile.

Old habits don't die. It was a family thing, every time we came back from school we would yell "I'm home," and drop our school bags in the doorway making mum angry but she could never stay angry for long.

Footsteps followed before he ducked in and froze, "Oh dear,"

I looked up smiling from my spot as Stephen sniffed and shook his head, "Mum," he groaned shaking his head.

"I was just trying to cook, why is everyone so against it," she snapped shoving the spatula away and crossing her hands over her chest huffing. My old brother laugh undoing his tie walking up and wrapping his arms around her.

"Because mum, you can't, deal with it," he said earning a smack from her across his shoulder which only made him laugh.

"Why is the stray cat here?" he asked looking at me. My mouth dropped as I leaned forward to hit him.

"Is that how you great your sister?" I asked offended, he may be older than me but his maturity levels were way below me.

"You were sent away for a reason, no one wants you," he laughed as he let go of mum and came towards me.
