Cold, Cold Heart
I am a caged bird,
left alone to deal with
my own eternal thoughts,
actions,
never to be freed
from the cage.
It locks away
my deep insanity,
the insanity that creeps
inside my very soul,
etching it's way
into my veins.
It runs through
my cold blood,
heart turned to stone
from it's hidden
despiration
to break free.
It waits for the day
the cage will be opened.
It will no longer
be kept behind bars,
eaten away
by pure insanity.
One day,
the bird
will be free.
