Chapter 19
I was glad to be home with my family, glad to be in my own bed and excited that Alicia was staying with us.
Alicia was staying in my room with an air mattress on the floor and it was an interesting day- after I took that shower of course. We hung out, caught up on things that we were missing and gossiped about a lot of the cool kids and the want to be.
What I still kept thinking about was Josh, had I hurt him as badly as I thought I did?
I sighed and hugged my pillow closer to my chest falling asleep instantly.

I was banging on the door nonstop, “Please you can’t do this to me.” I whined fussing with the door knob. But all he did was laugh at me. Suddenly I heard the sirens from the tall building and I silently danced in my mind. I was saved!
Moron number-one came inside the room in a rush and grabbed me by the arm. “Let’s go!”
“No!” I argued scratching his hands away, well now would have been a great time to grow my nails. “I’m not going with you!”
“Yes!” He held a gun to my head and I gasped.
“Let go!” I heard a familiar voice screaming. “Ahh Hayleigh!”
“Alyssa!” I screamed back trying to get out from the kidnapper’s hold. “Please let us go!”
A fire was shot.
But no one moved and no one lied on the floor? But when I turn my head I see two tall police men holding the guns directly at my kidnappers.
“Drop the gun!” The police officers ordered. “Now!”
“Come any closer and I will shoot her brains out! Both of them!”
“No.” Alyssa cried pulling on the guys’ hand. “Let us go.”
Another shot was fired and this time – the person who I liked to call moron number one was on the ground holding his leg. Ha, that will teach him not to shoot Josh on his leg. I finally ran towards the officer hiding behind his back.
“Alyssa!” I screamed but it was too late another shot was fired and I closed my eyes not bearing to look, I couldn’t. I didn’t want to see my baby sister dead. No matter how much I thought she was annoying. No matter how much I wanted her to be gone, and I wished to be an only child.
She was… dead.
“Hayleigh, Hayleigh open your eyes.”
“Alyssa.” I sobbed, “You can’t be dead.
I felt arms wrap around my tiny figure and hug me tightly. “I’m not dead, stupid, open your eyes!”
I slowly open my eyes to see Alyssa’s figure in front of me.
“Alyssa!” I screamed hugging her back as tight as my arms would let me.
That’s when the police officers came to drag us away and the dream ended.
I sat up on my bed putting a hand over my heart panting out of breath. How could I have dreamed something that happened not even 24 hours ago?
*!*!*!*!*!*
It’s been two whole days now and I couldn’t believe it was Christmas already! I was so excited when I ran downstairs to see a whole bunch of presents stacked up onto the Christmas tree. Just like any Christmas day I was wearing my pajamas and singing ‘jingle bells’ as I opened one of my presents.
I and my mom of course made breakfast for the whole family. Even my Grandma and Grandpa came down to visit!
Caleb came by of course and gave me a present, which was a beautiful charm bracelet. I hurried to the shop to get my ‘I’m sorry’ present for Josh and smiled. He can’t say no to me once he sees this.
After I finally made my way into his house, I see him laughing and smiling with his family. I smiled a little to myself and stepped towards me holding out a box. Inside it held what he wanted the most and what he’s been asking for ever since I met him, but his parents never had the money to buy him.
“Hayleigh?” Josh questioned coming closer to me, “What are you doing here?”
“Merry Christmas,” I chimed fixing my Santa Clause hat and tapping on the cardboard box. “I came to see if you don’t hate me and to drop of your present!”
“It better be one heck of a present if you want me to forgive you, what is it?” He says with a small smile pulling on his lips.
“Look and see.” I tapped the box once again which made him furrow his eyebrows.
“This out to be goo-puppy!” His jaw dropped at the puppy in front of him and in one swift motion the puppy was in his arms. He looked like a little kid on well – Christmas morning.
