When I slunk back out from the bathroom, Eli was lounging lazily on the bed I’d woken up on. He smiled brightly at my entrance. “There you are, Lovely. I was beginning to think you’d drowned- although, I wouldn’t mind giving you some mouth the mouth resuscitation.”
His “cute” little remark was only met with my hate filled gaze. I turned away from him, searching the room for something else to do that wouldn’t involve him.
“Oh, don’t be like that, Lexi. I’m the nice one.”
“If you were really nice, you’d let me go.” I shot at the man, refusing to meet his eyes. “I don’t want to be here and you know it.”
“I understand that you don’t want to be here now, but that will change.” Eli hopped from the bed, sauntering over to me. “Eventually you’ll warm up to us, Love.”
I refused to meet his eyes, no matter how hard he tried to persuade me otherwise. “Why me? Why go through all this trouble for a girl like me?” With the shake of my head, I crossed my arms, feeling utterly defeated. “I mean, there are woman out there who are far prettier, much nicer and would probably do whatever you wanted just for the hell of it. Why me?”
Eli softened, his lips turning up into a smile that shouldn’t have been worn by a man capable of kidnapping another person. “To us, you’re perfect, Lexi.” I didn’t respond- if that wasn’t the biggest load of bullshit I’ll ever hear… “Anyway, we need to discuss some things. Tomas is waiting downstairs. He wants you to put those on,” he said, jerking his finger over to where a pile of clothes was laid out. “And meet him down there.”
I frowned, staring at the outfit with unease. I sure as hell wasn’t going to disobey Tomas again, but that didn’t mean I still felt okay with all of this. What did these two men expect from me? To pretend like this was all normal and start a new life with them? Yeah, that wasn’t going to happen.
“If you’d like, I could dress you.” Eli said with a sly expression. “Really, it’d be my pleasure.”
“Get out,” I growled, shooting daggers at the man with my eyes.
My venom only made his smile grow. “You’re a feisty little thing, aren’t you?” He leaned in, his chest barely brushing my back as he whispered, “I can’t wait to see what you’re like in bed.”
I shivered as Eli walked away, the sound of a door clicking shut following immediately afterwards. Trying not to dwell too much on his little comment, I made my way right over to the clothes that had been set aside for me. I’d been expecting lace and leather- something humiliating and completely degrading- but what I got was not that bad.
I shrugged on the t-shirt and shorts before taking a moment to straighten out a few things while I was alone.
First and foremost, how was I getting out of here? If what Eli had said was true and there really was no one around for hundreds of miles, how could I possibly escape? Sure, I could run, but, eventually, they’d find me. So, what was I going to do?
There was always the option that I didn’t do anything, that I give up and do what these psychopaths asked. That way would keep me alive. Unhappy, but alive.
I mean, just the thought of it- being taken by two devilishly handsome men- made me think I’d somehow been sucked into one of Kat’s weird smut novels. I was pretty sure that half the female population would have been more than happy to be in my place.
But I didn’t want this. I had plans; plans for a future, plans for a family. None of my dinky little scenarios included becoming a slave to two brothers who, for all I knew, planned on killing me the moment I closed my eyes.
