Chapter 13

I woke in the morning and he wasn't there, I rolled over to find a note on the pillow where he slept.

'Anna, went for a run in the gym to build up my stamina' he wrote.

I laughed, he is so funny. I skipped to the bathroom and looked in my mirror, my eyes had lost the tired look that I always had, probably because since he came here I've slept better than proably the last three years put together. My skin looked like it had more colour, I smiled and jumped in the shower.

I decided to leave my hair down for a change, I blow-dried it adding some curls with the brush as I blew it out. I pulled on a pair of skinny jeans and a red low cut fitted top and looked in the mirror. I actually didn't reconise my reflection, I had been so long since I looked like this. I grabbed a pair of red heels and went down for breakfast.

As I was walking past the gym I could hear him running. I smiled and slipped in the door watching him on the treadmill, he was jogging in just a pair of black shorts and looked sexy as hell, sweat was running down his back, his hair was wet and sweaty. I watched the muscles in his legs and back tighten as he took each step and I wished I could see his chest but he was facing the wrong way. Holy crap I am such a pervert! I couldn't take my eyes off of him.

He was just slowing down so I waited until he came to a stop before I spoke. "Hi" I said smiling and trying not to blush at the fact I had been perving on him for the last couple of minutes. He spun round as if I made him jump, he stared at me shocked, his mouth hanging open and his eyes wide. "I didn't think I was supposed to be able to creep up on you. I thought you were supposed to be some badass SWAT guy. Maybe I put too much faith in your ability to protect me" I said teasingly.

"I....I" he stuttered.

"You...you what?" I asked grinning, wow he liked my new clothes.

"Shit Anna, you look beautiful" he said looking me over slowly, I blushed, ok was not expecting him to say that!

"Um thanks" I said embarrassed.

"I'm not kidding, I think I'm going to need to buy another gun" he said shrugging and finally taking his eyes off of me.

"Another gun?" I asked confused.

"Yeah, extra bullets keep all the guys away from you next week" he said smiling wickedly.

"Well thank God I have a badass boyfriend then" I said throwing a towel at him so he could wipe the sweat off his awesome body. "So I was thinking maybe we could go to campus tomorrow instead of the day after if that's ok with you, we could find our way around and stuff" I said hopefully.

I didn't want to be here with my parents anymore, they kept looking at me strangely when I was around Ashton and it was making me feel even guiltier about what happened between us.

"Sure whatever you want" he said shrugging and wrapping the towel around his neck. "I better go shower" he said.

"Yeah and I'd better go spend some time with my Mom if I'm leaving a day early" I said grimacing.

He laughed, "Hey want me to come save you in an hour or so?" he asked grinning wickedly.

"Hell yeah" I said laughing as we walked out.

He went up to shower and I went into the lounge where I knew my mother would be at this time of the morning, having coffee. "Morning" I said as I plopped down in the chair opposite her on the terrace.

She looked at me shocked and then a slow smile spread across her face, "Good Morning, new clothes?" she asked happily.

I nodded "Yeah went shopping yesterday, new school, new start right?" I said smiling.

"Right, you want some coffee?" she asked grabbing another cup from the tray.

"Sure" I said pouring some out.

"So I was just asking Agent Taylor if it was ok with him if we go to the college campus tomorrow instead of the day after" I said watching her face closely, she was beaming at me. "That way we could find our way around, get school schedules and stuff, maybe scope out the good places to eat" I said.

I couldn't help but smile at the thought of being away from here where Ashton and I could just pretend to be boyfriend and girlfriend without all these meaningful looks from my parents and the staff who think there's something going on.

"That's a really great idea hon, I'm going to call your father see if he can come and have some coffee with us if this is your last morning" she said flipping her cell open. "Hi Maddy, yeah can you ask him if he would like to come and have coffee with his wife and daughter on the terrace? Yeah great ok thanks Maddy" she said snapping the phone shut. "I like the outfit did you buy it yesterday? Aaron said you went on a shopping trip in the afternoon" she said making light conversation.
