CHAPTER FIVE

The doors opened to the reception area. “Lord D’ark has been looking for you,” said the receptionist to Geeva.

Geeva walked to the turbolift. “Top floor,” he commanded the lift. Within 30 seconds he had travelled up to the 30th floor of D’ark Corps. The doors opened onto the second secretary’s office.

“You may go straight in,” said the secretary to Geeva.

He walked through the P.A.’s office and through a slightly ajar door to Lord D’ark’s office.

“Ahh Geeva,” said D’ark, “I have been waiting for a report from you, what happened? You sent out a distress signal. When my men turned up there was nothing there, only some misaligned signal buoys.”

“Ahem,” Geeva coughed a little, “I accidentally pressed the button while looking for my lip balm. Couldn’t get the darned thing to switch off, and accidentally broke it. I’ll have to have a new one.”

“All right, all right you can get a new one from requisitions. What did you find out about Sid and Arthur? Are there any more spies or infiltrators trying to work for me?”

“Sid is on his own, Arthur seems too busy trying to be a leader over a gaggle of mismatched rebels than to prove any real threat to you. I mean us.”

“Ok,” said D’ark, “I want you to keep your eye on them both, infiltrate their organisation if you can. That’s all.” He turned back to his visual portal.

  Geeva Left.
