EDIT: Ok so cool, I rewrote the story to make it better. Enjoy

Reality, technology. It’s the same thing every time. Technology isn’t improving; it’s repeating. Just like reality. These thoughts pass through my head as I wait for the train to pass. Am I the only one that thinks these things? I sigh quietly. I shouldn’t have these meaningless thoughts; I need to study. The roar of the train got softer and we were allowed to pass. I walked back home revising over what I need to do for the test next week.

"I’m home!" I shout to the empty space. I don’t wait for a response and just go up to my room quickly. My parents are never home. More like they never comeback to this one. They have this brand new house in Germany and they have a new family too. They still send the money necessary for me to go to school and pay the bills though. I threw my bag onto the bed and it landed with a light poof. I spun around in my chair and started the laptop.

After an hour of homework I decided to play some games. Games are interesting. Whether it be the art, plot, graphics or all of them. It makes me really feel like I’m living in a paradise. A pop up appeared and I immediately closed it. Things like that are annoying. Not long after I closed it though, it popped up again. With each time I closed it, it would keep appearing faster until I gave up and just looked at it.

If you could disconnect from reality, would you? My face scrunched up with laughter and I clicked on the link expecting it to be a joke. Sure enough another window opened asking you to sign up for a game. After all, you can’t really disconnect from anything can you? I might as well sign up and waste some time.

After I had finished signing up, the game started immediately. The story line wasn’t set but it resembled a RPG game. The graphics were beyond amazing; everything looked so realistic. Dragons, elves, fairies, islands, treasure. Everything.

I got absorbed into the game. I couldn’t move away from it. It always kept drawing me in. When I could move it was time for school. I decided I would come back and play it so I left for school. I kept seeing paranormal things all over the city. Monsters, rifts in space, ghouls and these futuristic inventions. I felt like my head was going to explode so I ran back home in the middle of school.

I went straight onto that game and it seemed like all my troubles disappeared. However I started feeling weak, I couldn’t do anything else except play that game; couldn’t move, couldn’t speak. After days of torture my screen went all black words appeared in the middle.

Disconnect from reality? Y/N

I couldn’t take the stress anymore so I clicked yes. Minutes later I can feel my heart stop beating. I fell onto the floor, my body weak. But there wasn’t any pain. Just a tingly feeling in my chest. I started to get tired, I wanted to close my eyes. The last thing I saw before I lost conscious were these words that flashed through my head:

You have been disconnected.
