Tools Of The Trade

The very first thing you should do to begin your journey in the graphic design world is to be armed. There are wonderful programs that can help you create beautiful designs in no time at all. Now, creating a cover or banner requires photo manipulation, typography, and sometimes digital painting. Here are the two most widely known tools that can achieve all that.

*Photoshop - is one of the most popular programs. Excellent for advance works and details in graphics.You have to buy it.

*GIMP - a free, simple program that is great for beginners.

We recommend you read The Makers, by @NathanielS. His guide is great for everyone that is involved in design, whether a beginner or an advanced designer. His tips and tricks will help you perfect your creations and give you further insight into details, themes, and some history about covers in Wattpad.

Always remember this word: RESOURCES. Resources are what make a cover, the more you have the better, but always remember to give the needed credit. Photographs, stock pictures, brushes, vectors, etc... those are resources and there are many sites that offer them for free.
