Lexis lay against the grass near the garden, brain twisted in a complicated puzzle. He knew there was something bothering him, however, for the first time in his life, he didn't want to dig deeper and find its roots.
He was afraid of that. Afraid of the reason.
And it wasn't a fear that he knew of. It was a new type of fear. A fear that he feels when he goes by the hospital nowadays.
A flash back of Rihanna standing in the kitchen, distressed, while staring at the palm of her hand, clouded his vision. That's all he saw for a moment, and it aggravated him to think that someone so insignificant and questionable would take from him the time of day.
She was too mysterious. Too complicated. And he held a certain hate for that.
A certain fear.
"Did you hear?"
He sighed but didn't open his eyes. Summer's voice became too much of a hassle to listen to these days. "Yes. I heard."
"It must be nice being the reason to set fire to a person and not care about the consequences. At times I envy you for that." Summer sat next to him and stared at his face: beautiful and scary under the afternoon's sun.
He didn't say anything, but then again, Lexis was a man of little words, and he would only open his mouth to speak when what he was saying mattered to him in some way. Summer always found that special about him.
"The Academy's bashing her. And believe me, I'm going to make her wish she never tried to lie to me. It won't be long before she breaks down and disappears, and I don't care out of which door she does."
Lexis opened his eyes, sharp, clear and a piercing stare looked into the blue of the sky. Slowly, he straightened his arms, back, and head until he was in a sitting position, with his wrists resting on his bent knees.
Then with a swift and malicious vibe, he stared down Summer, who stared back with arrogance.
He smiled his lazy smile.
"I'm somewhat regretting it now." He said, completely throwing her off.
He stood up and walked away, deciding to continue his nap time in the F.A.I.T.H. wing.
Leaving Summer behind him, confused and shaken from what he said.
