Let Me Hold Your Hand…

Chapter One : He’s Back.

“Can I come ?” Asked Anna her big brother.

“Anna, please don’t tell me you still have a crush on my best friend ?” Questioned her brother raising an eyebrow.

Anna’s heart started beating fast as she blushed. “What ? -- Mark you are being silly ! – You know that I stopped liking him years ago, it’s just I want to go.” She lied tugging her hair down to hide her blush. She still have feelings for him and she can’t deny it.

Mark nodded. “Okay then let’s go.” He told her even though he didn’t believe Anna’s words. But she thought he did believe and she smiled in relief.

“And Ann, don’t tell him anything about the surprise party !”

“Mark, since when I tell about the surprise parties ? -- It wouldn’t be a surprise !”

“Yeah right ! -- Remember when we did him a surprise party cause he was off to college, well it wasn’t a surprise anymore, cause someone told him everything about it.” Said Mark mocking of his little sister.

Anna laughed resting her head on the car window, as the memories of that day came in her mind…

It was six years ago, she was sixteen and he was eighteen and the next day he was going to college.

She was in her bedroom, after the non-surprise party was done, and there was a knock. “Come in.” Yelled Anna as he stepped in her bedroom and closed the door behind him. “Oh it’s you Ric. -- Come in, come in. -- What do you want ?” She asked him as she sat Indian style on her bed.

“Ann -- I -- Ann I love you and I know you do.” He told Anna as he stepped closer to her. Eric gently held her face in his hands to make her green eyes meet his blue ones, and to her surprise he brushed his lips on her soft ones, and she kissed him back. That was their second kiss.

They kissed each other with love and passion, like there was no tomorrow, until Anna pushed him away. “Eric -- No, no. -- We can’t do this, we can’t.” She told him getting away from him.

“Ann -- Ann please don’t do this to me, please. -- I love you. Chose either you stay with me or I go off to college. -- It’s now or never Anna.”

“Eric, go pack your things. -- We can’t be together and you know it ! -- Please go Ric, go.” Said Anna as a tear streamed down Eric’s cheek and he ran out of her room, and out of the house. That night she cried more than she even imagined.

“Anna we are at the airport.” Said Mark, taking Anna out of her thoughts, as he pulled up in the parking lot. She was into the memory that she didn’t even notice that they were there. She smiled at her brother, but mainly at herself, she was so excited to see Ric, it’s been six years now.
