The next night, Ray and I  met up with Spot on the corner of 1st and 3rd. I brought along my pistol. You can't be too sure, especially when you're new out here.

I checked my watch once again. 2 A.M- right on time. I saw two figures come into view.

''King Korbra. You have arived," Spot spoke. Not a chace of humor was in his voice. This was like life or death. One mistake, jail. Then, hell.

Ray looked at me. ''You ready for this?'' he said, raising an eyebrow.

''Gotta start somehow.'' I looked around to where we are.

''Ok listen. I got this corner alright? 1st and 3rd is mines. You and Ray go look for another corner ok?''

We both shook our head in understanding.

''Remember stick together. You split the money 10/8 until you both can stand on your own ok?" he said.

"Wait, where is the other perce-" I started. Ray nudged me into silence.

"Run along,'' Spot said turning around. Spot ever talked to me so harsh. He is really about is paper.

'''Spot?'' I questioned him. He turned and faced me. ''Do you recommend a spot?''

I wanted to laugh at my pun, but I literally could not.

He though for a moment before he spoke. '' Lesane Boulevard,'' he said.

I knew where that was. Matter of fact, I often went there.

I tapped Ray on the shoulder and told him to follow me. Spot pulled him back and spoke a few words to him. The whole time Ray just looked at me and nodded.

When Ray caught up to me I asked him about what Spot told him.

''What were you and Spot talking about?'' I asked.

He looked at me. ''I don't want you out here,'' he spoke softly.

 ''What?''I said.

He didn't want me out here? What did I do? ''I can find another corner to hustle, ya know.'' I snapped.

He huffed because he knew exactly what I was referencing.

''No, it's not that. These streets ain't no place for females. It damn sure ain't no place for you. I'm not saying you weak or anything. We both know by standing here right now our lives and on a line, a thin line. We both are new, the cops can catch us or our older cats can come and drop us with one bullet. I can't stand the thought of seeing you dead on this pavement.''

He spoke with emotions. No one ever cared for me, not like that.

''Why do you give a fuck?'' I yelled back at him. He just kept walking. ''Ray, why do you give a fuck?'' I yelled louder. ''Fine! I'll hustle by my self!'' I yelled at the top of my lungs.

Clenching too small fists, I made way the opposite of Ray. He just didn't understand. I don't want to be here. My father sold drugs, and he later said it's nothing but poison to our communities and quit within the month. I just needed the money.

I heard a noise that I didn't want to hear. An oh so familiar noise that was accompanied by lights flashing.

My first day out here and I see the cops. Everything in me said ''R U N,'' but if the cops see me running they'll know I've done something wrong.

''Is everything okay officer?'' I asked, turning around to face the tall white man.

''Does your mother know you are on these streets,'' he said in a stern voice. ''Yes sure, I told her I was going with my boyfriend, the boy that was walking with me, but me and him just had a fight,'' I said looking down.

Damn, I should act.

"Fine then. Let me escort you home," he said, opening the back door. I noticed immediately that he did not have a patrol partner. That's unusual for the police in this neighborhood and this time of night.

"No officer, the sight of the car will give my mother worry. You can follow behind me as I walk, though. I live on the crossing of Jennings and 9th Street. Third-floor complex."

The officer, if he even was that, seemed annoyed but did not push the issue.

The complex I was referencing was just a block away from where Ray was going, so I'd still meet him there.

Even after I got to the complex that I didn't even live in, I simply took my time going up three flights of stairs until the officer drove away.

Then, I ran back down, flipped my hood, and made my way to Lesane Blv.

I found Ray already at Lesane Blv. He was slanging some in another boy's hand when I walked over. ''Ay this yo girl?'' he ask ray. Ray turned his head to see me coming twords them. ''Na bruh, just my friend.'' He assured him. His eyes got big. '' You friend with that and aint hit it yet? Damn bruh'' he yelled. '' Well he got a better chance of 'hittin it' then you do'' I said rolling my eyes. ''Fuck you!'' the boy said to me. ''Thats his job.'' I said point to Ray.  He looked at me and smirked. '' Bye Roscoe'' Ray said to his crazy friend as he ran off. '' Aye Ray give me some, i'll go down the block and get the other side iigh?'' He  stood there like he didn't know English. Ugh. ''Rei wa, watashi ga burokku OK no hantaisoku ni iku koto ga dekimasu watashi ni ikutsu ka no yō ni ataeru ka?'' I spoke in Japanese. ''You speak Jap to?'' he smiled. ''Its alot you don't know bout me'' I smiled back. ''You have beautiful eyes'' he said. ''Just give me some so I can go down the otha side'' I said. ''Why don't you just watch me tonight?'' he said. Ugh. ''Ok I will but tomorrow I have to slang a few'' I told him.

I sat closed to him and watched him. He looked like he was doing this for years. I soon check my watch. It was 6 A.M. time to go in. I walked over to ray. He was talking to this lady. '' You got my number right?'' he asked her. She smiled and said ''yea''. Its sounded like she was moaning while talking. She was about 5'6 with her 99 inch rainbow heals on, light skinned, basically no damn cloths on. The OMG girls wear more cloths then her. ''Is this your sister'' she asked pointing to me. ''Na, I'm slowing her how to slang dope'' he told her. She nodded. ''Oh so you are a a fake gangster.'' she said speaking to me. ''I'm realer than yo ass.'' I told her. ''Ugh'' she sceramed at me and walked off. Ray looked at me. I though he was gone laugh but he looked angry. ''Why you do that i was bout to get some!'' he yelled. ''Well. I didn't know. She a hoe anyway. speaking of anyways, where is my cut.'' He held up  1600 which means we both get 800. I took my share. ''If i was slanging we would have got more change.'' I told him. ''How is that, its only $108 a pack. ''I'll act sexuall and charge 120 a pack.'' I told him. ''How You gone call her a hoe, but you act like one?'' he asked me. ''How you gone say I ack like one when you are the one asking for sex from random hoes on the street. He went to hust mode. ''HaHa, got cha!'' i screamed before running home.
