The greatest power a wolf has is stealth.
It allows us to move freely in the dead of night, and not stir a leaf. To get right behind our prey and sit right next to it for hours. And best of all?
To sneak out of your house without getting caught. I love being were.
I walk on stealth feet downstairs, type in the alarm code, which I totally don't know, open the door, walk out, closing it softly behind me.
Easy peasy lemon squeezy.
I pull my phone out of my hand bag and call Sam.
"I'm outside" I say when she picks up.
"ok I'm almost there. Had to pick up Jared." I could hear the smirk in her voice as I blush madly.
It wasnt a secret to all but Jared that I had this thing for him. If I was determined NOT to have a mate, I would want him. He's a complete god.
Brown, soft, looking hair, sweet brown eyes. Beautiful muscled body. And those LIPS......
I was snapped out of my fantasy as Sam pulled into my driveway, lights off.
She grins at me over her windshield, her convertibles top down. I hop in the back seat and smile awkwardly at Jared. He smiled back and something melted inside me. God he's beautiful.
As we pull silently out of my drive way, I close my green eyes and let the wind russel my blonde-black-other random colors streaked hair.
I look up at the unmoving, cloudless sky. The stars twinkled at me as if winking.
I look forward again, and see Jared smiling and staring at me.
I stare to the side, out where the hood and window should have been, embarrassed. When I sneak a peak back, he's looking forward, but still grinning like a fool.
Sigh..... He's so adorable.
We arrive at Simones party in twenty minutes. The whole drive, no one talked. To even miss talkative Samantha. I love the girl to death, but damn she has one hell of a mouth.
Just as we pull up, I feel like something was calling me. My head snaps up from subconsciously staring at my black and white tube top. I look around but can't find anyone calling my name. Huh. Odd.
I shrugg and hop over the side of the car, not bothering with the door.
"I really wish you'd stop doing that." Sam says scowling.
"What? You always let me do it before!"
"Yeah, but you just made the people across the street and inside by the windows and in the yard stare at you. I hate staring."
"Why'd they stare?"
"Cuase you just jumped like ten feet into the air."
I look at her, not believing that. I didn't even feel going that high. I shrug it off though and walk down the bricked path to the front door. Simone opened it, and I smiled when I saw Evan standing next to him holding his hand.
They're so adorable.
"Lynny-girl! How are you!" Simone says, sounding like a fan girl.
Evan nods shyly to me, but when I smile, his cute eye to eye smile flashes.
Turning back to Simone, I say,
"I'm ok, Si-Si! How are you?" Yes, we did have pet names.
"I'm fab. How are my favorite, totally being lied to by their daughter, parents?"
I wink and reply,
"They're fine. Still pushing the mate thing though......"
"You should listin to them. Finding your mate is amazing." With this he pulled Evan to him, who relaxed like he was home.
They're so adorable.
Simone invites me in, and I push trough the people till I reach the drink table. Always against alcohol, I pick a soda instead.
After popping open my Sprite, I head out the back door unnoticed. No one was there, mainly because it was a party, but also because no one went this close to the woods on this side of the territory. Simones family could because they are only part werewolf, and they are recorders, or like were-in general historians. But, no one went as close as I usually did to the weretiger territory as I did when I came here. I didn't know why, but I felt at home in these strange woods.
Yep, this is what I do at party's. Stare at the woods.
I slurp my soda and wander up to the edge of the territory. The woods swayed calmly in the wind, almost to the music pumping behind me. I stare with curiosity into its secretive depths.
I'd only glimpsed a weretiger once, running along the side of the road as we drove by, but the memory was so faint I barley remembered.
I continued to slurp and stare. But as my eyes adjusted, I began to see something hiding in the shadows. I connect with my wolf and look through her eyes into the forest.
There, sitting not five feet away, was a full grown tiger. The creature stares at me with as much confidence and curiosity as my eyes shown with. Realizing it knew I saw it, I shrug and sat my soda next to me. I take off my black wrist cuff, then my black skinnys, and finally my tube top. I'm not naked, I always wore a black tank top and spandex shorts under everything I wore incase I had to shift on spot. So I shift.
