Chapter 1.
“Hello? Hello?” I was walking around the house at 2:00am. I heard a big bang coming from the kitchen. No one was there. As I was going back to bed, I heard it again. I went back and said “Hello..? Is anyone there?” Someone replied in a soft voice, “Y-yes..” I quickly ran to the light switch. It was a little boy. He looked about 13-15. I walked over to him, and said, “Can I help you?” in a stern voice. He just put his head down.
He finally replied with, “I’m sorry. I just don’t have a home.” At that moment, I felt sorry for him. I don’t know what it’s like going out with 1 meal a day. Let-a- lone not have a home to go to. I took him to the spare bedroom, and gave him warmer clothes. I walked off and went back to bed. I couldn’t stop thinking about it.
In the morning, I went to see if he was in the spare bedroom. He was. I sat next to him on the bed, and asked, “What’s your name? And how old are you?” “My name is Jet. And I’m almost 16.” I have to admit, he did seem nice. I offered him a shower, and he said yes right away. Once he got out, he asked me my name. “Brydon. You should be able to stay here for a bit longer, my parents are in France. They wouldn’t take me.” I said to him softly.
I gave him some food, and he ate it in seconds. After a few minutes, my sister walked in the house. Staring at Jet. “Who’s this Brydon?” She said in a weird voice. “My friend, Jet. Say hello, Jet.” I said covering me and Jet. Yes, it felt bad. But I had to do it. “Hi.” Said Jet so nervously. “Well, I’m Brydons sister, Milly.” She said. I got up and pulled Milly aside. “Milly, what are you doing here?!” I said in a whisper yell. “My mum and Dad live here too.” Milly said in a smart tone of voice.
As Milly fed her face, and finally left. I just there, thinking that Milly actually fell for it. I went to go get dressed. After me and Jet went up the street, & got new clothes for him. The smile on his face was so unbelievable. It was like, magic.
