Louis

"I can't tell them he did it." She writes on her white board. Tears stream down her face and I feel pitty for her. This would have never happened if I would've answered the door. If I would've gone the extra few steps instead of making my brother do it. She writes something more. "He's my only family." I read and I look to her.

"I know how hard it is to lose all your family. In no time you'll gain even more. I promise." I say to her as I wipe the tears away and lift her head up with my hand. She shakes her head at me. It's too hard for her to lose even more. "Don't tell them it was him. Tell them it was me. It was all me. Tell them that I came to your house after you told me you didn't want to be with me. That you didn't even want to be friends with me." I say and choke down a sob. Seeing her like this breaks me. She starts to look back down to the floor. "I'll do anything just to see you happy again." I say to her and she smiles.

She brings her head into the middle of the bars and I come closer to her. She presses her lips to mine and I feel the warmth and the sparks arise. I smell her sweet perfume and I feel dizzy. I let go of her and take a breath.

"I can't tell them it was you either." She writes. "There has to be some other way." She says and then stares at me right in the eyes with her grey irises. I don't know what I'll do with out her. I can't make her feel any worse.

"I don't care. I want you to be happy!" I say to her.

"I'm happy when I'm with you." She writes and then looks back to the ground. She looks hurt that she finally had to admit it. That she finally had to say that she liked me. THat she has actual feelings for me.

"I'm happy with you." I say sadly. And look at  her for the answer. "But I'll take the blame to make you happy." I say to her. Feeling even more for her in these seconds then ever before.

"I can't let you do that." She writes and looks at me. "I'll tell them the truth." She writes more. I look at her with surprise. I see the hurt in her eyes. I see that she's not wanting to do this. That she doesnt even want to be in this place. That all this in her eyes is just some sick dream. And I wish it was for her.

"Ryan. Can you tell me who did this to you? Was it Louis?" She shakes her head and pulls out her white board. She scribbles two words down.

"My brother." She writes and the man looks at her in surprise.

"Are you sure." She looks back at me for reassurence and then to the floor. She's not wanting to look at the man when she tells him this.

"It was me!" I say even surprised that I said it.

"Is he telling the truth, Ryan?" The man asks. Ryan looks back at me with surprise. She starts to shake her head. "Did Louis do this?" HE says gesturing to her body.

She starts to write something down but before she could I blurted out. "Yes! I did. She sent me a letter and told me she didn't want to be my friend or anything. She couldn't be around me. I couldn't handle that. I beat her and made he bloody in anger that she would say that. Then when I realized what I'd done I helped her. I made sure she wouldn't die by helping with her wounds. It was all me. I did it." I say to the man and Ryan looks back to me.

The police officer doesn't look at her white board and just looks at me. "Well Louis. We'll have to set up a court date for you but until then you must stay in this cell until further notice. I'll set up..." He then was cut off by a sqeal.

"It wasn't him!" Ryan squeals as tears stream down her face.

"What is this? We just had a confession. How could it not be him?" The man asks.

She starts writing on her board. "It was my brother. He's been beating me since forever and this was just the worst of them all." She writes and the man looks at it and strokes his chin.

"Evadence?" He asks.

"Asj my next door neighbor." She writes and then show it to him.

The man looks at it the says something into his waulkie talkie. "Seems like Louis will be let free for now." He says then opens he cell to let me out."We'll get back to you Mr. Grange." He says and I walk with Ryan.

We walk down the halls and then once we get outside she looks at me. "You really didn't have to do that." I say as I raise my hand telling my brother to wait a moment in the car.

She writes something down. "I know. But I realized I care about you more than I care for my brother. I love you more." I read and I look to her. I raise one eyebrow and she smiles. She writes something else. "Really." She says then I lean in and kiss her soft lips.

My mind races as I smell in her sweet smell. We part but I still want more.

"You can stay at my house. We still have that guest room!" I say to her and she smiles to me. She nods her head and I help her over to the car. I lift her into the back of the car and I take the drivers seat.

We drive down to my home and I help her out and into the house. Miama runs over to Ryan and talks to her and helps her. She asks her what exactly happened and things like that. I randomly hear things like "Do you want anything?" "Are you sure you don't want anything?" "I'm going to make some Tacos just for you." She smiles quickly and nods her head no everytime.

The look on her face when she's around miama makes me want ot be with her forever. Just to live with her as long as I live. When I see her with Miama and Miama is happy with her I know that she's the one.

But I think I knew that a long time ago ... On that playground.
