Middle School: Impulsive secrecy

Chapter 1 Back to school

I was fourteen and summer vacation was over already for me. I was sad because my cousin had died, and we were really close. That's not the point, the point is when I went to school on a Wednesday I never came back. "Oh, how could I forget my name is Elizabeth and my best friend's name is Ally, she is a Lady Gaga freak!"

I had to take Ally to school, because her parents were out of town. We were a little late, of course Ally forgot her backpack. Once we got there we hurried to get to class if not Mr. Stilinski, our science teacher would be seeing us after school for detention. The wind was so strong that the birds couldn't even fly straight. It was the same kids everyday . We all had our groups but we all seemed like family. I could definitely name all the kids but who has the time right?

The teacher Mrs.Grannis taught us our history, but can't forget her student teacher, Mr. Cox. In the middle of them teaching the lights flickered on and off. Everyone assumed it was from the power outage last night. Then the phone rang, it was the principal. As the day went by it was finally over. Ally and I walked home, watching the leaves blow away. It was a beautiful day. If only it lasted.

Chapter 2 Reunited

The next day Ally and I walked to school, and thankfully she didn't forget her backpack. We hurried to class carrying our heavy backpacks to our first period, Algebra. Ally and I have been best friends since we've had the same classes. Algebra was difficult, it was like mixing English and Math totally not my thing. The only thing that got me through the day was Ally’s jokes. She would say "What did the melted cheese say to the unlucky tortilla? Man, it's nacho day!" Of course her jokes were cheesy, but that's what made them funny.

After school Ally and I had track practice. We were the fastest we always tried to see who was fastest, but we were pretty much always tied! As soon as track was over we both rushed to Ally’s house to play Guitar Hero, the game we're addicted to, and to eat pizza. I won some, she own some. Before I knew it, it was time to go home, and as I walked home I saw Victoria.

Victoria had always been jealous of me an Ally, we never knew why. I felt like she was stalking me so, I ran home. Victoria was a girl who had few friends, and wanted to hang out with the popular, but also be better than everyone else. Ally and I used to hang out with her but because she treated us like crap knowing she was better than us we ditched her, and ever since the we've been close friends.

In the morning, Ally and I walked to school, as usual. The weather was nice, a pretty clear sky and very windy. The perfect day. It felt as if nothing could go wrong. When we got to school, we put our books in our lockers. Then we set off for another boring day in Algebra class. I almost fell asleep. When I sleepily walked to English. It seemed to take forever, but we finally got out. I'm not big on school, as you can tell. We went to math (which took too long) then set off for history.

In history class, the Principal made an announcement through the intercom, saying "We will be having some-" She didn't get to finish her sentence, because the power went out. I'm not sure how that could effect the intercom, but it did. There was a lot of chattering and worried faces. After about five minutes, the lights came back on, but not working completely, most of the lights were flickering. "How, now, it's ok I bet the lights will come back on any second. Mrs. Grannis said. Sure enough she was right. The lights came back on, flickering again! The same exact second the lights turned on, the phone rang. Mrs. Grannis picked up the phone and said, "Hello? Helloo?" Then the lights flashed off again, and the phone lay dangling by the cord. You could heat static through the phone. Mrs.Grannis and Mr. Cox were both gone.

Chapter 3 Alarmed

There was panic throughout the whole room. Kids were screaming and a couple people were crying. "What do we do?" Someone asked. "I don't know." I replied shakily. I looked over at Ally, I could tell she was freaking out. She had panic in her eyes. All of a sudden we heard a loud shatter, like a window breaking, being accompanied with a scream on the other side of the wall. The entire room was silent.

Victoria said "Come on! Who is going to check it out?" She seemed so calm, it was creepy. Ally said "Well if you think your so tough, why don't you go?" Victoria looked at her as if she were about to punch her. Victoria shouted, " Because I'm going to protect everyone here with my ninja-like skills, while you get yourself killed!" There were a few gasps, and Ally looked shocked, even though, a comment like that was nothing compared to other things she has said in the past. Caleb (the quiet one) hollered, "Hey knock it off, if you two are going to be sissies, I'll go!" and he walked out the door.
