Kenell stirred, she never felt so stiff before in her life. Everything ached, especially her back. Fforgetting that she wasn't in her dream or head anymore, her hand flew to her lips. her lips still felt like they were against Emerson's. Kenell sighed and sat up to see she wasn't in a familiar room. hers was elegant and roomy and this room was boxy and not so elegant.
"Youre awake." it felt like a repeat of her dream but the voice was differet this time. Kenell swept her eyes around the room to find a man sitting at his desk scribling away. it seemed like he was drawing to Kenell. but if his back was faced to her howd she know she was awake, she questioned.
"Who are you?" the man across from kenell and turned to face her.
"The man who got stuck watching you all day yesterday while you slept." Kenells eyes went huge.
"All day?" the man nodded.
"Yes, you've been resting for about 16 hours now."
"That means i missed my first day!" Kenell scrambled to get out of bed. she managed to stand up but it hurt.
"Oh settle child, even if you rushed you wouldn't make it." Kenell glared at the man with god like features.
"And why's that?" He smiled lightly at Kenell.
"Because they've already been let out of their studies, you actually just missed the boy who brought you here last night. I swear that child is you're other half, he wouldn't leave you're side till i threatened him." Kenell smiled. it made her happy to know Shaye was by her side for as long as he could.
"Dont be so smug, he slept the time away he spent here." Kenell couldnt help but laugh.
"Who are you?" Kenell asked again, but more determined this time. the man stood up and bowed.
"My name is Roman Burn." Kenell's face went blank. where had she heard thet name from before.
"Whats wrong?" Roman rushed to Kenell and felt her forehead. Kenell pushed Romans hand away and looked directly at his face. unknowingly Kenell raised her hand and touched his cheek. it was soft and warm. finally realiziing what she was doing, Kenell moved her hand from Romans cheek and back away from him as much as possible.
"You look exactly like him." Roman stared at Kenell in complete and utter confusion.
"Who?"
"Emerson." Kenell sighed as the words left her system.
"How do you know Emerson?" Kenell felt as though she shouldn't have said anything to
Roman.
"You know him i just thought-." Roman bluntly cut off Kenell.
"I'm Emerson's Older brother. but how do you know of him i haven't seen him in forever. well ever since he ran away from the school that is." Kenell looked down at her hands.
"I think he saved me..but im not sure." Kenell looked up fast enough to see Romans eyes had begun to water, Roman rubbed his eyes and looked away.
"What did he say to you?"
"Nothing." She lied quickly.
"You're lying, i can sense you're emotions, you're scared. he told you something that has frightened you hasn't he?" Kenell sat frozen. she didn't have any clue what to say.
"Emerson came into my dreams, but-."
"Did he do this to you? just to get inside you're head."
"I guess so. but i understand why-." Kenell was cut off again, but this time Roman was no longer gentle with his words.
