Love Conquers All

Now onto the story...well as you get to the end of the chapter I think you will be a little shocked at the discovery.

Victoria

So far there was no sign of Zane or anyone of the other jocks that caused Dylan so much pain. There were only whispers from anyone who looked at us, glares from the girls directed at me because I caught a guy that they were trying to catch in their dragon-like clutches and envy from the guys directed at Dylan because he was able to snag the girl that they have been trying to get with for years.

Zane

I've heard the whispers going around school, considering that some of the girls were shrieking about it and not in a happy way. They were mad, mad that the guy they wanted to hook up with ended up with a girl that no guy had wanted.

At first I thought they were rumours that one of the gossips deciding to spread because she thought it would be great to try to get the other girls to bully Victoria. Besides Dylan knows to leave Victoria alone after the beating that my friends and I gave him. But as the whispers grew I knew that they weren't just rumours but the truth. As I rounded the corner to go to geometry I caught sight of the back of Dylan's head I started walking toward him but Lexi intercepted me.

"Hey Zane." Lexi smiled sweetly but in that I-know-what-you're-up-to look. I tried going around her but she sidestepped me, blocking me from my destination. I scowled but she didn't seem fazed by it, Lexi just looked down innocently at her cuticles.

"Move Lexi I have something to deal with."

"Don't you mean someone?" She stopped inspecting her cuticles to stare straight into my eyes. Geez she's very persistent when it comes to her cousin. I moved away from her and faked a left when she followed my movement, I quickly went right and got past her. She didn't even try to block my way now because Dylan had moved on so I made my way to geometry. Sitting in class as Mr. Spitzer drone on and on about something I started planning something diabolical.

Dylan

I was talking to Tori and Lexi when we were standing outside their history class when Lexi moved down the hall, I turned my head to see who caught her attention. Zane was walking down the hallway probably to his math class until he seen me. He was intercepted from his destination by the one and only Lexi. I stood in the hallway with Tori for a few more minutes, until she starting pushing me down the hallway and telling me to get to class before I was late, I gave her a peck on the lips, then ran down the hallway at breakneck speed. I didn't want to be late to frugal cuisine.

Yes I take frugal cuisine, a class where not many guys sign up for, they like to take shop class or computer class or anything but a class where you can make food and then eat it after it's done cooking. Well then they luck out on the delicious things we make, and it's their fault if they have to either get takout or cook up something frozen because they don't know how to cook. Besides whatever I make I always bring the peice of paper that has the recipe on it home with me so I can make it for mom and Alissa. That way Alissa gets to try something new each time, instead of having the same thing over and over. Today we are making home-made pizzas.

Tori

The whispers and the glares continued nonstop, but there wasn't anything I could do was there? No. I didn't think so. The girls are just jealous because Dylan asked me to be his girlfriend rather than one of the girls who always flaunted and flirted in front of him.

Then there's Zane. I knew that he knew that Dylan and I are together. It's not like he can just ignore the whispers going around like a wildfire at a rapid pace. I'm just glad that he hasn't confronted me about it, or tried to start another fight with Dylan.

Speaking of which, here comes Dylan, my heart is puttering in my chest just at the sight of him, my stomach is rolling around making my nerves bubble up. I still can't believe that we are together after everything that had happened. He's wearing that smile, that special smile that is just for me as he catches sight of me standing outside my classroom. Dylan throws his arm around my shoulder as he pulls me to his side to kiss the top of my head. I wrap an around his waist as we saunter down the hall. Lexi sees us and a smile brightens her face and she rushes up to my side and walks with us.
