Vampire Knight

"You think she can save me!?" Zero yells at me. I feel Shizuka Hio behind me, and half of me is telling me to turn and protect myself and Zero, but the other half is telling me that she's the only way.

"Yes, we made a deal! Listen Zero, the only way to stop becoming a Level E is for you to drink this woman's blood!" I look at my best friend, pointing Bloody Rose at me. "I promised I would let her drink from me. Then I'll be the same as you." I gulp. "I'm scared but I'll be fine. And that way, I'll be able to save you." I tell him, my voice cracking as I watch him walk towards me. I lift Artemis up so it's at the base of his neck. "Stay back, Zero!" He pushes Artemis aside with his arm.

"Even if what Hime says about your blood is true," he looks at Shizuka Hio, "I can still beat you withint an inch of your life, Shizuka." He grabs Artemis and makes me drop it.

"Zero," 'I have no right to stop Zero....but...'

"Move it, Hime." I grab Bloody Rose. "You're not going to get in the way of me killing a Vampire, are you?"

'I now know...' "No! That's not why...." I lift my wrist with my braclet towards Zero's neck. 'What Zero has been feeling for the past four years. But...' "I don't want to do this to you. I'm sorry Zero-" 'But...' He grabs my wrist, then puts Bloody Rose away and grabs my other wrist.

"Why are you trying to stop me!? She should-!" He stops, looking at me and I know he can see the tears forming in my eyes. "Hime..."

"This girl has tamed you." We both look at Shizuka Hio. "Hehe, are you happy to have finally heard your master's voice?" I look at Zero, seeing hatred in his eyes. "You cannot help but obey me." I look back at her. "I am back in my own body. Now, my voice has the power to bind you." She smiles. "Ah, this is convenient." She smirks. "Keep holding Hime." She smirks. "You do understand, don't you? I created you. I am your master. You cannot disobey me, Zero." I look up at Zero and try to pull my hands away.

"Zero, let go." 'The power to bind him?' Zero holds onto me, his grip tightening. "Zero!?" He turns me so I'm facing Shizuka Hio. "You don't have to force Zero to do this! I'll let you drink my blood!" She smirks again.

"For four years, this body has been ravenou. Did you truly believe that your blood was enough?" She reaches forward and grabs Zero's shirt. She pulls him toward her and bites him. He closes his eyes and I watch blood trinkle down his neck.

'Zero.' "You said you only needed my blood! Please stop!" Zero holds onto my hands tight when I try wiggling away. "You've tortured him enough! Why are you being so cruel to him!?" Her face appears beside me.

"I'm punishing him for becoming attached to you. Hime, you call me cruel, but you're being cruel yourself." She lifts my chin so I have to look at her. "Your choiced make Zero suffer, even I can see that." I stop struggling, realizing the truth in her words. She leans towards my neck.

"I....I thought if I was with Zero, things would be okay." I chuckle and tears come to my eyes. "Will he forgive me, somday?" I ask, then I feel him let go of me as she pulls me towards her.

"Don't..." I look back at Zero as best as I can. Then his arm shoots past my face and grabs her neck.

"Zero!" I look at him.

"You can't do it, Zero. Just stay being my puppet for now." He looks at the ground and I see sweat starting to bead. "You can't even squeeze those fingers around my neck."

BLAM!

I look back and see that Zero shot his leg. I look back at Shizuka Hio and I see him squeezing Shizuka Hio's neck.

"...take...." He gasps out then lifts the gun to Shizuka Hio's neck.

"Zero, stop!" I yell trying to push him away when Shizuka Hio starts to chuckle. She jumps back away from us and I hold onto Zero.

"You want to kill me?" She asks, then she looks at us. "But this is not enough to kill me."

"...anything more away from me!" He pulls away from me when I realize what he said and I faintly hear the gunsots he fires. "I'll finish it, I'll end it all." I watch him, then see blood on Shizuka Hio's clothes. "Rest in peace, Shizuka." He says. "I kept on living just for this day." I tackle his back and hold onto him. "Let go, Hime."

"What are you planning to do after this?" I ask. 'This is what I've always feared. I was to afraid to ask him.' "What are you going to do when this day is over?" I ask him, looking at him as the tears that I've held in start to flow. He looks at me, his eyes widening.
