now that training has begun, the other tributes are getting to know eachother. the alliances have already been formed between the careers and they are sitting, eating and training together. Martial has found his strength. he is a born archer like his mother. as haymitch told me on the first day of training in my games, i have told him to wait to use his skills infront of the gamesmakers and not to show the other tributes what he can do.
he trains in all of the different kinds of stations so he can get a wider variety of skills but he often lingers around the camoflague table, watching the instructor paint his arm. he concentrates so attentively that everyone around him doesn't exsist. Peeta also shows him how to camoflague his body to look as if he is a tree. Martial thinks this is interesting and tries to copy Peeta by painting on himself. he is very good at this too and Peeta radiates his excitement.
Blye doesn't seem to worry about anyone and ignores anyone who tries to talk to her. she is good with knives and spears but her specialty is the gauntlet. with the glove that fits easily on her hand and the three spiked finger nail shaped blades, it would make anyone run and hide. she uses it with such precision that i am scared she has been holding one ever since she was young. she takes a swing at a life sized dummy that is easily twice her size and with one swipe in the head, the dummy slides into three pieces. all of the other tributes watch her in awe and even the instrucotrs from not only her workshop but all of the others stand by to watch her talent. she is one girl you do not want to mess with.
the time has finally come for the tributes to show their skills to the gamesmakers who will present them with a score. this score does not show who the gamesmakers think will win, but to show the potential in which a tribute shows. the tribute disappear one by one and as they do, the room becomes quieter and quieter. when Martial's name is called all i tell him to do is be true to himself and the rest will come naturally. and then we wait. and wait. and wait. until finally Blye's names is called and the room is empty.
now all that's thats left to do is wait for the scores.
