Erica Edwards twisted a stray brown hair around her long, bony pointer finger, and then glanced over at it. "Split ends. I so need a haircut," she said, to no one in particular. Two guys ran past her, their mouths basically hanging open. No one bothered covering up the fact that Erica Edwards was beautiful. She was tall, with long legs and a muscular figure. Her long, layered hair was brown, with blonde highlights. Not crappy highlights, however. Only the best for Erica Edwards.

Coach Ziegler, a short, slightly overweight man without any hair, looked down at the track from the bleachers. Everyone, including the argumentative freshmen, was running their laps, except for Erica Edwards. The beautiful junior would never learn, would she?

"Edwards, what are you doin'?" Ziegler shouted.

Erica looked up and released the hair from her hand, and then walked across the track to where a few more girls stood, pretending she didn't hear Ziegler.

"Hey, Erica. I was looking for you," Brittany Hart said, and chugged a bottle of water.

Taryn McKinley stood beside her. Taryn looked Erica up and down, smiled a fake smile, and turned her back from Erica, to say to Elise Howard and Nicole Branch. "Skank".

Elise and Nicole giggled, took one last glare at Erica and walked away, their Soffe shorts too short and their t-shirts rolled too high.

"You know, I really, truly hate them," Erica said sincerely, watching them leave.

Brittany pulled her blonde hair from its ponytail and released it in the wind. The same two guys from earlier looked Brittany and Erica's direction. Brittany glanced over, aware of their staring. Not that she cared. She was used to it. Erica didn't even react.

"So, are we going shopping? I got new my credit card, ugh. Finally." Brittany said, her eyes still on the guys.

"Sure. Want to take my car?" Erica grinned. She had gotten a new Dodge Charger for her birthday last August. Everyone always wanted to take her car. Unless it was raining, of course.

"Duh," Brittany grinned.

"Hey, Ziegler," Erica said, approaching the bleachers.

Coach Ziegler looked down from his seat, at Erica Edwards and her sweaty friend, Brittany Something. "Yes, Ms. Edwards?"
