"You're leaving?"

"I'm afraid so, Isabella," Alex whispered, turning his blue eyes away from me, looking slightly afraid.

"Why?" I managed to choke out.

"You know why, I was only here until you had to go back to school."

"Yeah, so?" I shrugged. "Can't you stay a little bit longer?" I asked hopefully, begging him with my puppy dog expression. He could never say no to me when I looked at him like that. Let's just hope he won't say no to me this time.

It looked like he was struggling to say no to me, but he stayed strong. "I'm sorry, I can't. I have to go back. I need to focus on school now."

School? Oh yeah, I forgot. He still has school to worry about. He was in college after all. "So you really can't stay at all?" I asked once more, hoping he would change his mind.

"Yeah, I can't, sorry."

"But that's not fair!" I yelled, throwing my hands up in frustration.

He stepped towards me and pulled me in for a hug, calming me down slightly. "I know, but it's not like I was going to stay here forever," he whispered.

I nodded, feeling his hard chest against my head. "I know you couldn't, but I don't want you to go! Can't you just stay a few more days? Please?" I begged, pulling out of the hug a little, staring into his ocean blue eyes.

He give me a small smile. "I'm sorry, I really can't," he said while shaking his head, "but tell you what."

"What?" I asked, confused.

"I promise to visit every now and then, how about that?"

"Every weekend?" I asked hopefully, praying he would say yes.

"If I can, I'll visit you every weekend." He nodded, giving me his charming smile.

"Promise?" I asked, holding out my pinky for him.

"Promise," he said, hooking his big pinky finger around mine, shaking it up and down.

"Good." I smiled. "I'm going to miss you so much, Alex," I said, pulling him in for another hug.

Wrapping my arms around his neck, I pulled him closer to me, giving him one last goodbye hug before he had to go.

"Me too, Isabella. Me too," he said, his breath sending shivers down my neck. He wrapped his arms around my back, giving me a warm hug.

"Um...if you're done saying your goodbyes, I have something to say too," John said, coughing loudly, trying to get our attention.

Blushing bright red, I pulled away from Alex quickly, avoiding eye contact with my brother.

"Sorry John, go ahead, say what you have to say," I told him, staring at my shoes like they were a piece of art, when they weren't. I couldn't face my brother just yet.

"Well um," he began his voice sounding nervous. That's weird, why would he be nervous? "I'm leaving, too."

"What!" I shouted, my eyes snapping up at him. I glanced at him and he looked dead serious. John wasn't joking at all. Why is everyone leaving me now?

"Yeah, sorry Bell. I need to go back to college. I already took a year off, and I can't afford to take any more time off."

That's true. John already put his life on hold for me, and I couldn't really stop him from wanting to go back to college.

Staring up at John, I nodded. "I know."

"You do?" he asked surprised, his eyes staring back at mine, searching to see if I was lying or not.

"Yeah, sooner or later you had to go back, right?"

"I guess." He shrugged, "but why aren't you getting sad or angry like you did with Alex?" he asked, hurt flashing through his eyes.

"Because, John, you're my big brother. I can see you whenever I want, but I can't do the same with Alex," I explained to him, hoping he didn't think I loved Alex more than him. No one could replace my big brother. He may be overprotective to the point where I want to rip my hair out, but I knew he was only doing it to protect me, and I loved him for that.

"Fine, I see who you love more." John pouted and crossed his arms over his chest, acting like a small child. But knowing John like I did, I knew he was only pretending to be hurt.

"Don't worry, John, I'll always love you the most!"

"Really?" he asked, his eyes glowing with joy.

"Of course."

"Good." He smiled. "Now come over here and give me a hug, too," he said while opening up his arms wide for me.

I smiled and ran over to him, wrapping my arms around his back and giving him a quick squeeze.
