"Wait... Where are we going? Who are you again?"
Harry sighed. Lauren had been cleared from the hospital, a few stitches that would dissolve within a couple days situated in the gash in the back of her head. He was leading her to Gemma's car with one hand while looking up the address of her hotel in the other. Thankfully, along with her cellphone, iPod, and clothes, Harry had found her hotel reservations in her backpack. He turned back to her big, confused blue eyes, smiling gently. "I'm Harry, and we're going to your hotel."
Lauren was confused. Who's this Harry guy? Why did he seem so familair? She looked at him, getting a view of his profile while he typed furiosly into his phone. His face was intense, but Lauren could see the faint lines where his dimples would've shown if he was smiling. He had sparkly green eyes and wonderfully curly hair that Lauren wished she could run her fingers through. He was one of those guys that she would love to date if she was older and-
Oh wait. She was older.
Lauren sighed lightly. How could she not remeber the last 4 years of her life? Did she still have a crush on Caleb? Was she single? What were her grades like? How the hell did high school go? Did she still take guitar lessons? What did she do for her sweet sixteen? Did she still-
"Lauren, love?" came a British voice, knocking Lauren from her thoughts.
She looked up at Harry to see he was staring at her, and for a moment when green eyes held blue, Lauren's heart stopped dead. He smiled gently at her, gesturing in front of him.
"This is my older sister, Gemma. Gemma, this is Lauren."
Lauren gave a little wave. "I've never heard the name Gemma before. It's very pretty."
Gemma smiled. "Thank you. So, where's your hotel?"
Harry jumped into the conversation at that point, filling in Gemma on where to go and where to drop them off. Lauren sat in the back while Gemma drove, talking quietly to Harry, who sat shotgun.
The drive was surprisingly short. Within a matter of minutes, they were in front of the hotel. Harry got out, and, despite it being 11 at night, he was a little too anxious to get out of the public eye.
Lauren was about to get out of the car when the door opened. Harry was on the other side of it. She must've looked surprised, because Harry stuck his hand into the car.
"After you, love." he said with a smile.
Lauren hoped she wasn't blushing too noticeably as she took Harry's hand and had him lead her out of the car. When she got up and entered the lobby, Harry took her aside and turned his intense green eyes on her.
"Lauren, you need to go to the main desk and check in, okay?" he broke what she needed to say down and made her say it back to him.
"But they're gonna think I'm crazy, checking in all by myself." said Lauren hesitantly.
Harry smiled sadly. "You're not 13, love. You're 17, and could easily pass for 21."
Lauren nodded slowly, heading over to the front desk.
While Lauren checked in, Harry rushed over to find his sister. To his surprise, she was looking for him.
Gemma looked upset, but Harry's words came rushing too fast for her explain.
"Gemma, I'm so so sorry. I know this was supposed to be our weekend and I've totally ruined it because I can't leave Lauren alone now and we can't spend the weekend like we planned and I know you think she's a crazy fan but it's my fault she fell and-"
"Harry, hush!" Gemma said, stopping her brothers rambling. Harry, surprised, did as told.
Gemma smiled slightly. "I'm not mad at all, Haz. I know that she didn't fangirl off the train, you told me. She slipped, and it was an honest mistake. I agree, you shouldn't leave her. Not until she's got her memory back. And I know we were supposed to spend the weekend together, but I actually have some bad news for you too..."
"What?" Harry paled, not sure he could take any more bad news.
"Abby's got meningitis. She called me while you were with the doctor. Apparently she's got it bad, and she's in the hospital. She asked if I could come home and since you've got your hands full with Lauren, I kinda said yes....."
Harry smiled a sad smile. He knew Abby needed her best friend with her. Gemma had to go. "Well, this is an ugly turn of events, isn't it?"
Gemma chuckled. "Yeah. Well, I've gotta go find an earlier flight home. Maybe we could do this again some other time?"
Harry grabbed his sister into a tight hug. "Maybe? Definitely." she laughed and hugged back, giving him a sisterly peck on the cheek.
