Jessica was your stereotypical definition of a normal popular teenager girl; she attended high-school at Holy Cross Secondary Schoo, she was a straight A student, was dating the football star Brock and was well known by everyone because of the massive end of the year parties she threw. Everyone in the town who was somebody went to it; there were even some rumors that celebrities showed up once and a while. Jessica was also always the life of every one of her parties, or any in general. Always found dancing on a table or with a bunch of people playing a game, among the lines of Truth or Dare.

Once Jessica started attending high-school, she wasn’t the same naive little girl she was before. All the attention she got was by her own doing, flaunting herself in skimpy dresses on dress down days usually got the boys attention, and the girls were equally easy. Coming to school with a new hairstyle or fabulous outfit made them all come flocking.

Jessica was every guy’s ManiacPixelDreamGirl; she never cheated on any of her ex's and was always on every guy’s minds. She was mysterious, in the way that people could not tell what was on her mind.

One boring and uneventful day Jessica was aimlessly scrolling through her Facebook account, mindlessly trolling through the news-feed to see if anything was new with her friends or if there were any new beef or fights. Even though there were around a thousand friends on her account, nothing new was going on, so after about ten minutes, Jessica decided to call her friend best friend and partner in crime Heather. Clicking the little icon at the bottom left hand corner, all of her online friends popped up.

Scrolling down to Heathers icon and clicked it, up popped their previous message from the day before. They had been discussing the plans for the following day and what was going to end up happening. The day had come and Jessica needed to verify when she was going to be coming over and if she should bring the vodka or not.

After a minute of waiting, Heather replied to her with the answers to her questions. She would be coming on Saturday at around seven-ish when her father could drop her off. And she would be bringing a bottle of Vodka for the two of them to share; since Jessica was home alone for the rest of the week, they could drink it.

After the answers from Heather, they aimlessly talked about non-serious things such as their grades in school and plans for the upcoming summer. They went on like this for about an hour because Jessica loved talking to Heather; she was distinctive and irreplaceable as her best-friend.

They had met six years ago when Jessica moved to the area. Heather was the first kid who talked to her and became her friend. Ever since then they were inseparable. Like her, she was one of the popular girls and everyone in the area knew about her. After going on for a little more, Heather went offline, so she decided to just watch some YouTube videos until she came back on.

Right when she was about to start a new tab, the red icon flashed above, signaling that she had an incoming friend request. Probably from another random creepy guy, but since it was curiosity, she opened it and the name came up as someone named Logan Berrick, Jessica thought for a second; did she know anyone named Logan? But being the slightly naive and curious girl, she decided to accept his friend request anyways; thinking that would be the last of it and that nothing would happen.

All of a sudden the familiar dinging noise signaled an incoming message. Thinking it was Heather she stopped her video and went to it. Instead of Heather, it was from the kid that just added her Logan. Clicking the message it opened and displayed something that made Jessica feel uneasy. It read;

Hello, thank you for the add. I'll be seeing you very soon!

"That was strange", Jessica thought to herself as she went back to the YouTube video. She did not want to reply to the message, since it was nothing more than a meaningless guy trying to hit on her.

                                                                               ***

When Jessica got up the next morning, she immediately went to check her computer for any updates. She had two new messages, one from Heather and one from the mysterious Logan kid.

Can't wait to see you tonight, I'll be with you shortly babe.

“What the fuck did he say?” Jessica said out loud to no one in particular, since it was only her home. Maybe some investigating was in order, clicking his profile, she checked out some status updates and pictures. Logan had a normal profile picture; he looked like an average looking teenage boy. He also posted statues that teenager guys usually would. So she shook it off and went to tidying her house for the arrival of Heather that evening.

It was 6:30 and the house was now spotlessly cleaned. Heather would be arriving soon and Jessica was getting excited. Going to her computer she opened up Facebook and saw yet another message from Logan.

See you in 30 minutes. We’re going to have an amazing night...

Jessica started hyperventilating, her brain shooting her warning signs left, right and centre. She blocked Logan, feeling relieved overall now that the situation was finished. She figured he couldn’t bother her ever again if he was no longer on her Facebook. Thirty minutes went by and nothing happened, she texted Heather, asking her when she would be coming over. All of a sudden, she got a reply from Heather's phone saying;

Blocking me, will do nothing you little bitch. You’re dead, just like your friend…

Screaming, she threw her phone across the room and watched as it shattered into pieces on the floor below. She waited for several seconds for her mom or dad to come busting through the door. Then quickly remembered they were still gone on their trip. She was home alone all night... She started panicking and suddenly the house went pitch black, as if someone short circuited the fuse.

Realizing that she had just broken her phone, one of the only sources of light, she turned on her laptop, giving her just a smidge of light for the background. The page that was open was Facebook and she had a new message from Heather. Jessica was scared to open it but ended up doing so. It read;

Look behind you ;) Terrified, Jessica slowly turned around, praying to God that it was all just Heather playing a joke on her. But instead, she made eye-contact with a very tall man, wearing a pitch white mask, he had two slits where his eyes were supposed to be and etched into the mask was a crooked smile. He let out a high pitch giggle as he stroked the large axe in his hands.

The top gleamed from the light of the laptop; the man stepped forward and gripped the axe more tightly. Jessica on instinct looked for the first available thing to throw at him. She grabbed a textbook from her desk and flung it at him. It bounced off of his chest and clattered to the floor.  Jessica sat there now terrified; she was too scared to move and did not know what she could do next. Closing her eyes, Jessica said a quick prayer.

The man swung the axe with a mighty force. As soon as it made contact with Jessica's head; bloody spurted everywhere around the room, painting the walls in a bright crimson shade.

Placing the axe down on the bed; the man proceeded to then severed head by it’s hair. He looked at it for a second. He studied her facial expression; the last one she ever made was a shocked face. Like this was all a dream and she just woke up.
