"Junebug! It's been ages since I've heard you! I'm sorry I didn't call you, things have been crazy, with rehearsals and interviews and studio recordings... How are you? Did you get my package?"
"Hey Niall. It's okay, I know you're a busy guy. I can't expect you to call your boring ex-girlfriend every day, can I? Yes, I did get the package, but you really shouldn't have bought me that large FatBoy! Silly!" I answered, carefully dancing around the 'how are you'-question.
"Yes I should! I know you wanted one since like forever, so I saw one when I was out shopping in London and I bought it for you and had it shipped. Glad it arrived okay then. What's up sweetie?"
"Uh, Niall, I was wondering if I could have a chance to see you again sometime. Soon. Maybe. If you have time."
"Well I don't think I'll have a chance to come back over to Ireland any time soon, we have to be at the studio pretty much every day."
"Oh okay, that's fine then."
"No June wait, it sounded important."
"No no, it's fine, really." I answered, while Kaitlinn nudged my waist.
"No June, maybe I could get you to London next weekend? We'll be at the studio on Saturday morning, but then we'll be free until a television interview on Sunday evening, so we could spent time together. If that's okay with your work at least."
I nodded, forgetting he couldn't see me through the phone.
"Yes... Yes that would be good Niall. I'll just book the trains and the ferryboat then. If you could only pick me up at the trainstation?"
"Don't be silly June, I'll book you a flight and I'll pick you up at the airport. And you can stay at our place. It will be nice, you can meet the boys too! Properly this time."
"Are you sure about the plane ticket Niall? You really don't have to do that."
"Yes I'm sure. I'll text you the exact times and how you can retrieve your ticket. I have to go now June, I'm due in the recording booth in a second."
"Okay then... Thanks Ni."
"You're welcome Junio. See you in a bit!"
I was shaking on my legs when I hung up the phone.
"Good girl! Well done June, you're really doing the right thing here."
"I don't know Kaitlinn. I'm just afraid that I'll ruin all of it. How can I do this to him?"
"You're not doing anything to him June, you're just telling him what he needs to know. You actually did this together you know," she sniggered, earning herself a slap on her arm.
"You want some food? Proper food I mean, not Ben&Jerry's because however I know that it's your silly craving, you do have to eat something else too, or this baby will come out Half Baked."
I stuck out my tongue at her. "Sure. Nando's? I'm buying."
"I am sooooo not refusing that girlie!"
The next Saturday, I got up early, because a cab was supposed to pick me up at 7am to take me to Dublin airport. Nerves were eating me alive, my stomach tied in a nod so I really couldn't get any food down my throat, however it would help me cure my morning sickness.
The nausea had died down a little by the time we arrived at the airport. The driver got me my luggage as I got out my wallet to pay him for the ride.
"No need to ma'am, it's been taken care of!"
I couldn't believe it, Niall had even paid the cab for me? Another surprise awaited me as I retrieved my ticket at check in.
"Oh no, ma'am, there must be a mistake, I should be flying economy, really!"
"No mistakes miss, it's been booked under first class, window seating. You can wait for the departure in the business class lounge and have some breakfast if you'd like. We'll be ready for boarding in about 45 minutes."
He must be kidding me.
To: Johnny Niall Cash - Are you crazy? Paying for my cab and getting me a first class flight? I'm no superstar, you know?
From: Johnny Niall Cash - Yes I am very crazy, thought you'd know that by now. Just enjoy it! There will be a driver to pick you up at the airport at 11.30. See you at the house around 1pm!
"Hello miss, can I get you anything for breakfast? Some cereal or a croissant maybe?" A blonde stewardess asked me as soon as I entered the business class lounge.
"Uh, just some cereal and a strawberry yoghurt please."
"Surely miss, you can take a seat and I'll get it to your table. Coffee maybe?"
